Remain optimistic, i say: the "w" at the end of the product name MAY signify a potential "p" or "c" (palm or cobalt) version coming hot on its heels.

my thoughts:

interesting, a little depressing for people who don't like WM (myself included). hopefully we'll see some innovation on the Palm side as well and that this does NOT mean that Palm is dropping their namesake OS!

At least wiFi compatibility will be easier. But I've lost all faith in PALM. They could've offered a driver for their WF SDIO card for the Treo, but didn't. Now they're basically smothering their own existince, and becoming "just" another hardware vendor.

The extra ram and slightly better camera don't make up for the lesser screen. My PPC eats through the RAM it has like nothing, so 64 on a PPC is actually worse than 32 on a PALM device. 240x240. *yay* :rolleyes: Most cell phones are 220x176 now days.

Maybe PALM knows something we don't, but now I'm paranoid about buying a Treo from them. Is this some type of suicide?

But I want to hold out and see if the HTC Apache will be available from Verizon soon.

I'm sooo confused. When it comes down to it, if I'm forced into the choice PPC mobile, I would rather have that little Samsung phone.

My next device is definately going to be a Smartphone or a PDA with a phone. I'm sick of carrying around two devices. If they come up with a 4+GB miniSD card, then I can get rid of my MP3 player also. I like to consolidate.

If Palm drops THEIR OS, someone better use it, someone good. Sony, you better get saving $$$. (If needed, that is!) Thats like Macintosh keeping their name, and switching the OS to Win, or the happy thought of 'PCs' keeping its name, and switching to OS X. :)

Exactly, Sony wold do so to kill Palm. :D But I wouldn't want the creators of SonicStage that suck at software in general making the OS for my phone PDA. Why else do you think they use Erickson. :)

Remember, awhile ago, I said Palm would be like Apple and make a side business (Apples=iPod)? Then the CEO? of Palm confirmed it! I was right! Remember? Now we know what the "side business" is :D

Oh, yeah! So whats the side business? WM Treo! :mad: Apple made a good decicsion going to a music player as a side business. Palm didnt make a good decision. Again, its like Apple using Win white hardware(:D), it'll never happen. and unfortaneltely, Palm is using Win on orange hardware. :(
