File/App Help on the NZ90

I am starting this Thead to address those like me who have just purchassed their wonderful Sony-NZ90 and may needs help with the overall operation of PROGRAMS one may install and use on their Sony-NZ90.

Alow me to post the first Newb NZ90 Reply to my very own post ^__^

I am trying to use my NZ90 for mainly viewing Files transfered from my PC, like MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe PDF files.......at least at this moment.


Im happy about the this "Documets To Go" it handles pretty good, though im always looking for a better App with more function.

My problem is that i can import PDF into my NZ90 but even though I tell it to Import the PDF on my 128mb MS it still places the file in Internal memory. Im sure is because of the Adobe app installed on the Internal Memory, but can i have programs like Adobe installed on Internal and have the files to be used on the MS?

If so can someone give me a walk-though, im a longtime Computer geek and proud of it, but i am totaly new to this Palm OS


also PLease from here on, if someone refers to a cool App they mention on this Thread please post their HomePage,

Really, I made this Thread to address, test-out and help others and myself with compatable application for their Palm OS 5 on the NZ90.

If you have any cool apps that you think others may like please post the Homepage and tell us why you like it:)

you have picsel viewer on your CD that came with your NZ!
You can view all kinds of formats including MS word, pdf and so on...

BLACH.. re Picsel Viewer..... Get a good PDF ... with bookmarks/talbes and 'good stuff' in it..... It don't work worth crapola ......

If you want a good viewer .... look at RepliGo .. at www.palmgear.com.

This is by far the best viewer out there (IMHO). I've put several postings out about Repligo.... go search cliesource for them. Basically.... if you can print it on a printer (whatever it is) ... you can view it with repligo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How awesome is that??????

View Word/Excel/PowerPoint/PDFs/Visio Diagrams/Microsoft Project/Help Files... list goes on and on..... ... Picsel can't even come close to what RepliGo can do. ....

By the way, i am trying to read a 70 page PDF on a big study of the Name of "G-d" and how and why The Name was changed from its Ancient Hebrew Name to the one we call today in the Christian Faiths, its very interesting........but Pacsel wont recognise the PDF at all.

"Documents To Go" will but sometimes is hard to read the text format.

Hey Iceman, I love the options of RepliGo and it looks great on the Sample PDF and other samples it has. I also like the fast ability to scale the pages fonts to the size i like.

I still have a problem, the PDF and Excel Worksheet i cant view on it in the RepliGo, all i see is options to see the "Viewer Guid" and the "PDF Sample", i dont see my files on the listing, I checked the Clie Files and placed them all in the same Dir and i still cant see them.......im not doing somthing correctly am I?

I think im too useto Windows and being able to click on any file anywhere in any Dir and have the proper App start up.

sup yo ? I have muh NZ90 for 2 weeks now, but how do I frikkin load an application on the gadget ? I'm still on level 1 learning. Also, what fun can be had on these palms besides the camera ?? My cd is crappola too, so I can't refer to dat, homeys.

Really now,....you add Apps to the Palms by installing the selected Palm Program on your PC and then useing the "Palm Desktop for CLIÉ" program that came with your NZ90 you can see that the program is ready to install onto your NZ90 trhough the HotSync Button on the base of the Palm Data Cradle.
the HotSync button on the NZ90's Cradle is on the Right foot of the cradle itself.

go on www.google.com and run a search for Palm OS 5.0 Apps
you will find alot........but remember most are trials, and you can only use them for a # of days to see if you like it.

heehee, palm aps arnt as easy to crack as Win Apps

OK here is a New Problem for me.

I took some videos and i realise there is a backup feature to the NZ90 but i instead Ran "Access MS with PC" and just coppied .MQV's into a directory on my PC for backup, thinking that all i had to do was import them back to "MQ_ROOT\100MQV01" Directory if i ever wanted to watch them again.

really just useing my PC's HD to store all my backed-up videos and Pics and such.

but i notice that I cannot even see the .MQV's once I import them back to the Clie MS.

What can i do to view these agin? I have a feeling its my lack of Palm OS skillz at this point.

any help is gladly accepted ^__^
