Just a honest question:
Doesnt Agendus already have a history of buggy xx.00 versions? I really wonder why they cannot get Quality control in place!

Let's wait two weeks and we'll see 10.03... that is early enough to give it a try... any other known issues so far besides cycling views

The views cycling appears across all devices, as far as I know. Bottom line is when you program hard buttons #1 and #2, you don't get what you programmed. ;)

Well, I haven't been able to get any version beyond 8.64 to work on my Clie NX73...it expands but won't ever come back on...just wants to be reset...I paid for the upgrade and everything.

seems like a huge bug not to have been caught in betatesting (although, as usual, the beta test was not long enough). As someone said earlier, usuall x.04/x.05 are the points at which the thing becomes more stable....patience is a virtue!

seems like a huge bug not to have been caught in betatesting Oh, I assure you it was caught in beta testing. As we awaited the next "build" that would hopefully correct it, out came V10.0 final release with the bug still there! I love the Agendus program, but as Tam Hanna stated, they need to focus more on Quality Control. Instead of "Ready, Aim, Fire," they are frequently guilty of, as in releasing v10.0, "Ready, Fire, Aim!"
Just a honest question:
Doesnt Agendus already have a history of buggy xx.00 versions? I really wonder why they cannot get Quality control in place!Yes, this is true. It seems like they have a set release date in mind and when the calendar says it's time to release, suddenly the final version is out, regardless of how many unfixed bugs there are. Wellsjs is right, this cycling bug is incredibly obvious and has existed in one form or another for many beta releases without being fixed. I think the release notes for one beta even said it was fixed, but it wasn't.
I also find it very hard to be an effective beta tester for them because they don't fix all the reported bugs with each beta release, so when I find a bug I can't keep track of whether it's a new/still existing bug that I should report, or if it's just an old one that they didn't bother to fix that time around. Their release notes always say something to the effect of, if the bug is already acknowledged from previous versions, don't report it again. The implication is that they're working on it and will get to it, but obviously that doesn't necessarily mean before the public release.

"Happy" to hear all this. I was also reporting some bugs (2 to be specific) but they were not taken care of. As one was the preference-crash bug I was VERY surprised when I didnīt find a new build but the public version on their website. Clearly they have a tight schedule and continue with "beta"-testing after the release :-) Well, I sure hope they get to the button problem, as it is anoying...

dont know which prefs crash problem you refer to but its likely that this is not
caused by agendus (even if the crash report might say it is!!). LD owners will know exactly what I am talking about

That is sure a long list for a .01 fix release.
That is sure a long list for a .01 fix release.
not unusual for agendus...app is still, effectively, in beta testing....usually takes until 0.05 or so until it is really ready for prime time

Yes, 10.01 fixed, according to "Adriano" the lead developer (as near as I can tell), about 80% of known bugs. Reactions to this "list of fixes" fall under the ol' "is the glass half empty or half full" syndrome! :) While we all wish more of our favorite apps would be more aggressive in developing/improving in features, we also wish they would launch bug free! That isn't going to happen with complex applications that interface with hardware (voice recorder, phone) and other software (Mapopolis, Pocket Tunes, etc.) in a multi-device/manufacturer, multi-OEM software environment like the "Palm world." The shortest path to solving all the nuances of all the different devices and their particular OEM treatment of "code" is to expose it to as many different users of those many different devices as possible. You only get so much exposure during beta testing with a subset of the user community.
So what's with the "half-empty / half-full" analogy? Some like to get on Agendus' negative side (glass is half-empty) and deride them for sloppy implementation, launching new versions that should still be called "beta," etc. I have even spouted that on occasion. But at the end of the day I would much rather have an app that is aggressive . . . OK, sometimes a little too aggressive, than one that is stagnant or "behind the curve" in implementing new features (Landware's Pocket Quicken comes to mind!). So I look at Iambic's Agendus Pro history with a postive spin (glass is half-full) and say to their development team, "Keep bringin' it on, dudes!" :D
I dont necessarily disagree with you, but however one looks at it, an 'update' that contains ~30 bug fixes implies that the software was a beta release. On the other hand, we are not forced to install it until it has gone thru a few iterations of this. That is what I now do (especially with a lifedrive)... :)

SoS,
I would call that "delayed gratification in accordance with you pain threshold!" :D
Certainly nothing wrong with that approach. ;)

Did anyone manage to get the standalone agendus mail 4.3 to work with T5? I tried and the buttons were left hanging in the middle of the screen.

GaryLim,
The 699 build of Agendus Mail 4.3 has not been updated yet. On the other hand, there are two versions, SSL and standard. It's my understanding the button/screen issue is with the SSL version only, so you might try the standard as a temporary measure.

I just posted this on the Agendus forums, thought I'd mention it here as well. On my Zire 72s, Agendus v10.1 will not show the menus on todos/calls. Anyone else see this? Open a todo into the edit details, and try tapping the titlebar or the menu icon on your palm. No menu shows up on mine, so I can't save todo templates, or convert a todo/call to a meeting etc (though I can still do this by using the split screen and dragging a todo up to the appointment area)

Yes, I can confirm your finding . . . good catch! You can get to menu options in edit mode with existing meetings, but not ToDos, not by tapping menu area or by tapping second from bottom left button.

I loaded the v10 (10.01) trial yesterday and I am also finding several issues. The lock-up caused by mapping to a hard button is extremely frustrating. Also, startup is far slower then I would expect. I definitely think they launched this version far too early and now we are in the midst of a live "beta". Hopefully they find quick solutions to the major issues.

The slow startup has been addressed and Iambic has promised "the fix" in 10.02, due out any day now. Check their forums for answers/solutions and even raise your own issues. Buggy or no, this is a release with features I love, and wouldn't think of going back to . . . say . . . 9.05! ;)

I saw improvement on my TH55. I think there is still a mystery as to what causes the slow load. Is it number of records? Not sure. I know Iambic developers are continuing to focus on this issue and hopefully will make the load time for all tolerable in the near future. ;)

AGP (10.02) starts up in 1/2 secs on my T5 now. It was previously 5/8 secs under 10.01. However, my entite T% had slowed down following a crash and reset several weeks before. I eventually got around to a warm reset (up button + reset pin), followed by a soft reset and that fixed what even a cold reset hadn't been able to achieve.
