Hey guys, so i'm going on a trip and need something to provide enough power for my ux50 to watch movies on the plane and listen to music. I've been reading none stop trying to learn what everybody was using instead of the EB40. I have bought box wave battery adapter, heres the link (Boxwave Batt Extender) (http://www.boxwave.com/products/batteryadapter/index.htm)
I know that i need to use 1.2v rechargeable battery since regular AA battery would be 1.5v each causing it to be 6v in total. So i understand the voltage rating, but now i'm trying to under mAh ratings. I know the bigger the mAh it holds more power, but is there a max or no for the ux50? i bought a usb charger leather case, so i'm good to go now, just need to buy the right batteries. Which battery do you guys recommend? my options so far are:
1.2V/2000mAh NiMH
1.2V/3000mAh NiMH
1.2V/4500mAh NiMH
I've read that people recommended to get 2000-2500mAh rating batteries, would getting the 4500mAh batteries effect my ux50? i want to make sure i dont harm my ux50 from this extended battery idea. Please let me know what you guys think.

Easy answer the bigger the mAh the better there is no limit go for the biggest you can get. The only small down side is that your AA batteries may need longer to charge.

I just found this official Sony battery extender (http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/ProductDetailDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&productId=160205) which could be easily modified to take a USB plug on the end.
Not only is it official Sony gear and badged as such, but according to the specifications on the page, also takes standard AA cells and drops the output voltage to 5.2V. And you can use rechargeable batteries in it too.
At ~£20 it's not exactly cheap, but it might make your battery extender look a little more classy ;)

Can you take a pic of this with the UX or do a size comparison?
Thanks.

On this pic (http://usb.brando.com.hk/image/usbbattery5.jpg), you can see the battery extender close to a XDA O2.
If I make no mistake, the screen of this smartphone is 2.8 inches and the over all size : 102x58x18.5. UX width is the same than XDA height, does it help ?

I purchased the Box Wave Battery Extender also. My question is---
will using regular alkaline batteries in it "hurt" the Clie in anyway?? Is this to be used to "boost" the battery when the Clie is in use, or as a charger when the battery is low??? And how can this little Battery Extender charge from the sync connection anyway???? Please educate me!
Love this forum, and I appreciate all the help you all have given to me.
Nita
