View Full Version : HTC Universal for Sale!
 Not sure if this has been covered, but I thought I'd let you guys know that several places seem to be selling the HTC Universal, called the i-Mate JASJAR. Very cool, but a bit spendy, I think for right now I'll stick with my UX50 and Blk V3, sexy match anywho :p

Hey amoon :D And yes, the all black one is the way to go, I might just get one of these.....
I've been wondering about that keyboard and that reviewed confirmed it. It looks just small enough to not be able to touch type. It also is just big enough to not efficiently be able to regular 2 hand it like the UX. I was wondering what were the exact hardware specs guys. Processor, graphics processor, etc.. It was disapointing to see the screen is only 65,000 colors instead of our 256k we're use to on our beautiful Sony screens.

Great JAm, I don't think I'd go back to the UX/mobile. The all-in-one works for me as I'm the road a lot, one charger, battery last longer, no mods to allow charging of PC, native window apps and sync, siht load of apps to choose from, better game play, better movie play, easier MP3 sync, cheaper SD cards, easy to customize software look an feel, more inbuilt RAM (now that i have done the "Big Storage" ROM mod, gained 26Mb of in-built RAM), small form factor based on the UX and no need to carry the seperate mobile.
The cripes are crappy BT drivers (MS base) No in-built Wi-Fi (have bought the SPECTEC Wi-Fi SD card and works well), and no keyboard (but the longer i don't have it the less i miss it.
Don't get me wrong the UX was great but the PPC seems to tie in with "todays" needs a lot better.
The O2 xda EXEC (Windows Mobile 5.0) looks great but it might be to big to be used as a "Pocket" PC, I'll wait till i can touch and feel before jumping into the bank account.

Have you looked at the HTC Apache? aka PPC 6700. Take a look here: http://www.sprint.com/business/products/phones/ppc6700_allPcsPhones.jsp

Wow, so it is going to be $1000+...that sucks!
I don't know if I'll invest that much right away...I'll wait a little longer. My Razr is fine for the time being... :/

The only way for us here in the US to get it cheaper is if cell phone carriers would actually support it. Let us hope T-Mobile and Cingulair both use it here. But we still have to pay extra for the unlock versions though. :(
I have a question, does all of the HTC Universal have the same blue color of back light as the Black HTC Universal from O2?
Though does anyone have any idea when the cool black O2 Exec version is going to be released?
Oh, and m0nkyb0y, my hebrew is rather rusty, what is does it say under the picture of the wolf?

How much did the UX cost, $600?

Well the all black version is available here in the UK for the ridiculous sum of GBP£629.95 and disguised as a Qtek device (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=125550).
Alternatively, for the same money, you can get the HTC rebadged as an iMate JASJAR (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=119353) (which to my way of thinking sounds downright wrong!), in silver.
And the Treo is a clear £200+ cheaper from the same shop....

Actually the UX50 cost $700 and the UX40 cost $600. Now they are $100-300.

I still feel it somewhat lacks the orignal kudos of the UX. People still wonder at the sexy Sony styling of my UX50 and gasp with astonishment when I show them what it can do. I think we just have to accept that it was ahead of it's time, but if Sony had not killed the Clie range, they may have come up with a truly superb device - particularly since their collaboration with Ericsson.
