will only power up when plugged into wall power

When I set my PEG50 on its cradle it receives power and will start up, but it goes through the startup process, like I’ve just done a hard reset. When I check the battery status it shows “Battery: ---“ So it’s almost like it’s not recognizing the battery. I had been using it earlier in the day, when I set it on the cradle to sync-up it would not power up at all. After fiddling with it I can get it to turn on no problem, but losing any information that was on it before. However, this is provided I have it connected to the wall power.

Any thoughts on this issue would be greatly appreciated

Seems like you have a dead battery. You will have to get a new one. Check out this page:

I am feeling your pain. Mine is in the same predicament, but I'm pretty sure I messed up the battery by replacing the MS slot without disconnecting the battery first. . .doh!

For now, I'm hoping that it will function normally when I get another battery, and when that happens, I'll let you know what the outcome is.

Salesrep - I did the same stupid thing...replaced the MS slot without disconnecting the battery. I replaced the MS slot but then it wouldn't power up at all or charge or anything. Did you get yours fixed?

No, not yet. I'll get it going soon though.
