HI I just bought a th55 and was wondering if anyone had a good list of essential programs, maybe ones that are better that what are supplied or ones sony did not include.
Thanks for the help
Mike

Good question . . . for the "Applications Forum!" :) Check here (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58).

While cross posting is good, and point to links is good. I think the first person was asking for programs specifically that work on the TH55.
Now as for me, I find Jpluck and or plucker to be a must have. Use it daily.
Strange adventures in infinite space.
An office program, your pick, that works with the TH 55
KeySuite.
the landscape utility that lets you turn the TH55s screen sideways (MUST HAVE APP)
If you had an NX80 or 73, get the video recorder software from your old CD. Also the Clie Remote control.

This link should contain what you need. Go to post #8 - cktlcmd posted the best response I've ever seen! It should keep you busy for a while!

Hey Mike, welcome aboard!
The TH55 rocks, you're going to love it.
I think another good resource is sonyclie.org.
I recommend the Movie Recorder application as a must-have add onn application. (It was orginally made for another Clie model but works great on the TH55, giving it movie capability it should have had in the first place.
1SRC is an incredible resource as well, try doing some searches on this topic here and you'll uncover some great threads about.

MediaLauncher for the TH is a must :D, sexy lil audio player and good image viewer (Need landscape, NOTHER MUST HAVE), Snappermail for email, Documents to go v 6.0 for Word and excel, Zlauncher and SkinUI to have a pretty interface :D, Audible for your audio listening needs :D, TCPMP for your movie needs, hmm what else Pocketunes if you like to stream music over wifi :).

In my 10+ years of owning a Palm Device, I have researched many software programs. The list of software programs offered in the previous threads is very good. I would also offer the following:
-AvantGo: I can catch up on all my favorite channels including news whenever I want.
-BibleR+: Awesome product from OliveTree and some Bible versions are even FREE.
-BibleReadMe: A read through the Bible application - another great product from OliveTree.
-Checkbook by Ultrasoft: Balancing my checkbook has never been so easy!
-DateBk5: Essential for keeping me on task and on time to my appointments. (I also like the CLIE Organizer, but use DateBk5 daily.)
-DietTracker by AndyChapman: A great way to watch your weight, monitor your exercise and count the calories.
-Documents to Go
-Shadow by Codejedi: A nice outline program.
-SplashID by Splashdata: A secure way to protect your valuable information.
-Fun games include: Bejeweled, Insaniguarium, and Whatword.
Have fun with your TH! It is the best PDA ever made.

I see no one has mention picsel browser. And so they shouldn't because the developer has not given anyone permission to have it (even though he also hasn't released it for sale) and looking through the posts to get it would be BAD...
Or are we allowed it now?
