THAT'S RIGHT!! ME!!!
I'm not leaving this forum nor is the Treo replacing my UX. It will be just another gadget in my ever-growing arsenal of tools.
Anyone know of a good Treo forum?

Cool! Don't forget to let us know the pros and cons based on your experience.
We are trying to decide which one to get for our company right now and it's between the Blackberry and the Treo650. So far, the Treo is winning.

Besiiiides here, Joel, ya big dork!! :)
I'm looking for Treo-specificity. Nothing could ever eclipse this forum - you know that!!
Thanks for all of your replies!! I can't seem to unlock the phone itself to make calls (it's looking for a 4-digit code and I think I've tried just about everything) but I still have access to all of the apps and I'll tell ya...it's pretty darned cool. About an hour ago, I was telling Mrs. SMEGGIE that it will never replace my UX but honestly, I'm not as sure as I was an hour ago. It has an SDIO slot, a camera for video and stills (and at first glance, the quality exceeds that of the UX), it plays MP3s and other media and when I load it up with all of the apps I use regularly, I can see a day when the UX goes up for bid.
Whaddya think I could get for SMEGGIE's UX? :)
Thanks again, guys.

I remember the day when I thought there could be co-existence with the Treo. My beloved TH is slowly collecting dust as I use it out of pure love and not so much out of actual use The Treo really does everything a great phone and great PDA should do. I sold my UX because I never really used it as a PDA. It really can replace a laptop. I bought a laptop and sold my UX to get my TH. Well, with all the traveling I'm doing I'm really thinking about getting a UX again so I don't have to bring my laptop. I really hope you can find a way to use them together because I know and most other treo owners know that the Treo is almost too good to be use in conjunction with anything else. Oh, it goes really well with the iPod nano. Absolutely great, like 2 peas in a pod.

How's the battery life?
I'm going to be sticking with my current setup for a while (UX50 & BT cell) since A) I already have them and B) it works off of two batteries, so, hopefully, longer usage.

So far so good.
However, I have only been customizing the crud out of it to get the best experience possible. There are so many things you can do with the Treo that you can't do with the UX mainly because of their inherent differences. I have been scrambling all weekend to get the right assortment of apps as well as loading all of my UX's must-haves for traveling because I am on the road again on Tuesday and I wanted to try to leave the UX at home. If I could just get my Agendus' calendaring moved over I would be set!! I have Green Day's "Holiday" MP3 set as my ringtone and I've got a bunch of other apps loaded up thanks mainly to Joel's post on the main page. (Thanks Joel!!)
I'll report on 'real world' battery life when I get back. One fo the cool things is that you can turn off the phone and still use the Palm app part of the phone and vice versa - they work independent of each other yet they are tightly integrated. I am really surprised at how far the integration has come.

Joe-
I'm tellin' ya - from professional to professional - go with the Treo. It's a no-brainer now that I have experienced both first hand.

One thing I don't like is...
There is an earphone jack on the bottom of the phone but it's the really small kind so my Bose QuietComfort II's jack doesn't fit!!
This is one more reason to continue to travel with both for the time being.

www.treocentral.com You'll find everything you need. I went the 650 route for about 5 months. BLEH! sucky phone and ok PDA. I had to go back to decent phone and UX50 combo. GOOD LUCK! Lemme know when you put your 650 up for auction on ebay. :)

Dude, you musta got a bad unit because everything (except the keyboard) is better about the Treo 650. I'm even watching streaming live TV (via MobiTV: MSNBC, ABC, Discovery Channel, ESPN, etc) on my Treo!! This is the first real test for this device because I'm at a conference for three days which will give me a chance to test the battery and general connectivity. Naturally, because I'm in transition, i also brought my old T68i and my UX. You should see my desk here in the hotel room! It looks like I'm having some kind of electronics sale or sumpthin'!!
Treo 650: phone is better than my T-Mobile T68i
UX: Doesn't have a phone
Treo 650: Screen is smaller but three times as bright and clear
UX: Screen is bigger
Treo 650: camera appears to take better pictures and video
UX: camera always takes grainy sub-standard pictures
Treo 650: implementation of external media is shaky at best. There seems to be an on-going issue with the Treo sometimes not seeing the card.
UX: Flawless in my experience
I could go on and on. In my experience, the Treo is a better device for wirelessness.

crazy crazy crazy smeggie :)
I was seriously jazzed about my new 650 as well. I'm not going to burst that bubble for you. Have at the phone. It's nice. Has some good qualities. Connects fast to the net.. good screen.. blah blah blah.
AFTER you put the thing through it's paces you might come to the same conclusion I did. After all I did use the thing for 4 or 5 months.
I personally like an exceptional phone. Something insanely intuitive and a joy to use. Sony Ericsson's S710a is an amazing phone. Love the SE interface.. I personally think it's better than Nokia.. we wont even talk about motorola.
It's nice to have everything lumped in one unit. I started to miss the clamshell design and keyboard on the UX50. The treo650 is a bit of a chore to type on if your use to the best of the best when it comes to pda keypads.
I also missed taking video clips and pictures from the hip. I hate holding the phone eye level and snapping pictures. The Treo650 will never excel at being a excellent phone nor an excellent pda. As far as a integrated device.. probably the best so far to date.
Have fun with it!

You're right...for the most part. :)
It makes a great "stride" towards a fully inclusive convergence unit but there is also plenty of room for advancement. (the keyboard, the little "idiosyncrasies" that PalmOne has failed to address, etc.)
I'm in serious 'honeymoon phase' with it though - so don't rain on my parade. :)
