Looking for a good file manager program, to make moving and deleting ENTIRE apps from my UX50 easier. I am looking at File Man and Uninstall/Cleanup. Has anyone used these and what do you think or recommend?? Can these programs be placed on the Memory Stik and used from there???

I also want to mention how interesting and helpful this website/forum has been, thanks to all of you!

I use Uninstall Manager/Cleanup. I love it. Uninstall Manager allows you to do a complete uninstall, and remove all orphaned files which are often left behind by the simple built-in Delete.

Regarding File Managers, I recently started using RescoExplorer (http://www.resco.net). I wouldn't use anything else now. Also, however ZLauncher's built-in File Manager is great as well.

I have used Uninstall Manager and Cleanup for some time now. Uninstall Manager is a great app that completely uninstalls apps installed with a hotsync. The sandbox feature is great if you do any beta testing or have an odd conglomerate of apps on your PDA. AFAIK, you must keep UM in your RAM in order for it to monitor installs.

As far as a suggestion for a file manager - the built in one with LauncherX is great, it is similar to McFile. FileZ is a good one that is free. I keep FileZ in RAM and in the launcher directory on my card, in case of a crash.

I purchased Uninstall Manager and Cleanup (Neatfreak Pack) and am very happy with it. The latest version of UN can even search for and remove files stored in the expansion card during installation of the app.

If you use Zlauncher be careful about using Uninstall Manager. They don't play well together. You have to make sure that you use ONLY Uninstall Manager to delete apps. If you use Zlauncher to uninstall and then use Uninstall Manager, you'll get an error message from Uninstall. (I don;t recall off the top of my head what the message is) Every rtime this happens to me I have to delete Uninstall's prefs and set it upo all over again. I also lose all the information that Uninstall monitors about installed apps. Anyone else run into this?

Chalk one up for LauncherX - UM and LX have no problems whatsoever! :D

Hmm. I've never encountered this problem. In fact, if I delete something via ZLauncher, a window pops up from UninstallManager asking if I want to also delete the files installed alongside the app I'm deleting.

I played around a little more with this combination and discivered I was not running the newest version of UM. So I installed the newest version. I also realized that I had not selected the "Work in Background" option. Now it seems to be working OK with ZL.
