Thanks for the Heads up... However if you do search this forum... you will see posts.. with issues regarding the LEXAR brand MS.

Seems these LEXAR MS units have a nice tendency (based on other users' posts) to go 'corrupt'.

I don't think they are even worth $.50 .... if they have this nice potential...... Even though I back up my RAM to MS ... and then my MS to my PC ..... Still would be a pain in the butt .... to need access to the MS... and it goes bonkers.

Good Price ... That's for sure ... but I think... you would pay a higher price... down the road.

Guess the wife and I are lucky... we both use 128Mb lexar sticks for our primary stick and never had any problems.

I have two lexar 128mb sticks, one more than a year old, and no problems here. Also have a SanDisk and find absolutely no difference. Both have to be made to Sony specs.

I'm not pro nor against Lexar MS. Only stating other issues people have had in ClieSource. Problems range.. from not getting rebates for over 14weeks ... to them being DOA .... to corruption on them.... card-readers having issues reading them... and more.

Seems if you search the ClieSource site here for Lexar you will come up with tons of different postings about their memory sticks. .... just wanted people to be more 'informed' ....

I would venture to say... it is similar to Car Insurance .... Some people LOVE Allstate Insurance... Others Pemco .... Some Hate Allstate.. because of issues which may have arisen when they had them as a provider .. and so on.

I'm sure there are many many many people who have had nothing but good luck with the Lexar MS.

I really haven't seen all to much negativity in regards to the SONY Brand MS .... and I feel, based on what I've read in this wonderful forum ..... that it is worth a few more bucks for them.

One could argue they paid $20 for a 128mb Lexar stick and have never had a single issue... and another who paid $70 for a Sony 128mb ... ... Normally ... when we lose data ... it is always at the worst of times (Murphy's law). We are away from home or the PC we back-up to ...

How many of us, with our computers really do backups on them???? How many of us, now a days, will do a backup of 80gb worth of HD stuff? Not all too many of us. We rely on the HD to last 'forever' (well at least until we buy a new PC and transfer all the data off of it). I'd venture to say ... < 10% of normal consumers (non business) backup their HDs.

If you read reviews on HDs out there.. and it showed ... oh.. Maxtor (only a pretend situation here).. seemed to have a higher failure rate.... would you buy it to put all of your data on?

I'd pay $30 more or whatever to get one that seemed to have much better reviews and lower failure rates/issues.

Again.... I guess it appears it maybe more of an issue about cost of the product... rather than the quality of the product as a whole.

I think, for the time being... I'll stick with Sony Brands .... as they seem a bit more 'rock-solid' in the quality department.

What's the old saying..... Let the Buyer Beware??? LOL
