The topic is not discussed a lot here. I would like to know which Project management softwares you use and which features make you prefer them.

Bonsai
clean interface, great desktop application, smooth linking to appointments contacts etc, natural test entry commands for enter=new branch tab=increase indent etc.
In short, I'm able to execute tasks very fast with bonsai. The desktop app is real nice too.

It's a two-horse race, as far as I can see, between ShadowPlan and Bonsai. Being a happy Bonsai camper, and not having tried SP, I can't give you a comparison. You'll find some here passionate about both "horses!" :)
Should be worth trying the demos of both products and deciding for yourself which suites your needs. Bonsai has had a desktop for a while and I believe ShadowPlan just recently introduced their desktop counterpart. That doesn't necessarily mean Bonsai's is better, but it's worth knowing and investigating! ;)

I've used Project at Hand, it's made by the folks who created Bonsai. It syncs to MS Project as well. The newest version(2.5.2 IIRC) works great even with Project 2003.

coreyI just added a third "horse" to the race!
Thanks for reminding me about Bonsai's cousin from Natara. For PURE project management with MS Project syncing, that would be the one!

Progect is a great open source alternative... The price is right. The latest built really improves the app quite a bit.

I used progect for a couple of years before I bought Bonsai. You are right. I would start with the freeware and see if you even need the features of any of the commercial offerings.
I feel the same about A5 or DtBk5 and Agendus. If you need more, then buy it, but try the freeware first.

I've used Project @ Hand since 1999, It functions well with Microsoft Project. I can easily update in the palm while out on site. Project gives me the full capabilities and is usefull in sending to other people involved in the project. It can function as a simple list maker or large multi-year project and cost tracker.
Shadow Plan, I use only as a list maker, only in the handheld where the items to track go beyond my to-dos.

This (http://www.palmsource.com/interests/project/) might be helpful. I found it while searching for Project Manager.

OK I feel like a complete idiot. I'm sorry wellsjs that my post might have looked like I was taking a jab at you. I did not at all. I was only poking at myself for offering what I thought was a humorous amount of advice about finding a new project manager. The use of the word wells had nothing to do with you or your comments. I really do apologize if it looked that way. I can see why it did (your name is wells). There was no pun or jab intended at all. Dumb dry humor at my own post.
I told the guy "I like Bonsai the best, but you should first try progect first (it's free), if you need more then buy a commercial, and even though you didn't ask, if your looking for datebook software, I feel the same way. You should try A5 before you try DtBk5 or Agendus." I was just feeling like I was trying to be an over informative mother by the time I had written my post so I made a light joke poking fun at myself.
I'm sorry it was taken the wrong way.

I'm so glad and relieved to learn that it was a "tragic" choice of words only! :D Apology completely accepted. I didn't think, or at least could not imagine that I had ever said anything to cross you, kennyd. I'm glad the air is cleared . . . and you qualify to keep your quote (a good one, I might add)! :)

While not technically a project management app, I use LifeBalance. It's probably more of a "life managment" tool. However, I do enter most of my projects into it and it does a great job. It has good links with the datebook and has a desktop version, for both a Windows & Mac, that syncs semalessly with the Palm. And it's flexibility is outstanding.
The downsides are that it can have a steep learning curve (it's so different from anything else I've ever seen) and it's a bit pricey for a Palm app. But then again, the service from the developers is absolutely amazing - I cannot say enough positives about my experiences of the Llamagraphics crew. Top notch service for a top product.
I looked at most of the products mentioned above and found them to be too limited, too expensive, or too Windows...
LifeBalance is one of the key apps on my T5 (along with Docs-to-go and and the SplashWallet bundle).
Cheers,
Tim
