Memory stick

my Magic gate memory stick doesn't read properly on my NR... duno why.. after leaving it in the slot for a while, my NR won't be able to read it.. however when every i use my 8MB sony MS.. it works liek a wonder.. can anyone troubleshoot?

try putting in the MG MS and when it's not reading, press on the "C" of "Clie" on the back. this will let us know if it's a hardware problem or not.

by doing that.. the memory stick should read instantly? well thanks.. bud sadly.... it doesn't work!.. so what must i do now?

It should help the MS connect with the contacts within your Clie. Obviously the problem then isn't with MS slot on you clie. It could be either a software conflict, some other hardware malfunction or something wrong with the MG MS. The former two are unlikely since you can read the 8 meg without a problem. My guess is that it's your magic gate stick. somewhere along the line it either got corrupted or damaged, do you have another MS compatible device you can test it on?

Silly question, it isn't an MS Pro stick, is it?

well it's nt the pro version one.. btw.. i keep getting this message.. "Alert Message : Mediacat could not be written to expansion media." does this mewn anything?

Is there orange showing on the copy protect switch on the back of the card?

thanks a lot for the help.. bud i itnk my memory stick wsa loose.. i placed a layer of tape around the memory stick and it has for the firts time read on my NR 2 consecutive times.. thanks!!! =) for al lthe help..
