Sure I'm dumb, but I never figured out how to make MSImport function.
It never wants to detect my NR70V Clie. Is there something I'm missing ?

Are you running any hacks? Overclocking hacks screw up MSImport. I had the same problem...then I just had MSImport run at normal speed and it worked fine.

I have no overclocking hacks. I just have PageDown Hack 0.4
Maybe I'm proceeding incorrectly.

Does anything happen on your PC when you run MSImport? Oh, and what OS are you running on your PC? Also, do you know if the Clie USB Disk drivers are installed?

Your doing something wrong. You don't need to run MSExport on the desktop. It should appear as a removable hard drive in your My Computer and you should be able to transfer any file type to it.

Hi Draak,
I am not sure what you are talking about when you say

MSImport is a software that is only running on your Clie. It makes the Clie behave like an external drive. Therefore if everything works fine, you will see an external harddrive in your Windows Fileexplorer that shows the contents of the Memory Stick that is inserted in your Clie. Of course only if there is a Memory Stick inserted in your Clie.
The first time when you do this, when the Clie is in it's cradle (and the cradle connected to a USB port on your PC) and you start MSImport on the Clie, the Windows Hardware manager detects a new device and asks for the appropriate drivers if they are not already installed.
Afterwards, everytime you start MSImport on your Clie, a few seconds later a new external harddrive will show up in your Windows Fileexplorer. It works great! And you can transfer all kind of data, not just PDB or PRC.
Define "Irrelevant".
I never use MSExport. MSImport is all I need to make the MS works as removable drive and Clie works as a card reader. I loaded MSExport to PC running with Win98se because I need the MS driver (Sony PEG Mass storage). My other PC running with XP does not need MSExport at all. Apparently MS driver is already loaded in XP.

Search c:\windows\sonyPDAdriver ... I suppose this directory is created by MSExport installer ... verify sonyCLUS.inf is present.
Use this directory to install PEG mass storage ... all right for me (Windows XP Pro)

There can be many causes, including a virus which might be hard to detect.
Usually it requires removing all traces of the previous driver to get going again. Then remove the USB Hub in device manager and reboot letting Windows rebuild itself. Have drivers handy for any other USB devices you may have, just in case.
