Here's an excellent free utility program I just found.

It will let you do installs of new programs and documents, without running a full Hot-Sync.

Most of you probably know, that after you have a lot of software on your PDA, and you start using Internet news services like Avantgo, it can take 5 minutes every time you run Hot-Sync, even if you are just running Hot-Sync to install one new PRC or PDB file.

Pilot Install is a program which looks and functions very similar to the Palm Desktop install program, but it doesn't try to fully Sync all of your PDA files. It just installs only the programs/files you ask it to install. So if you want to install just one new program, it will only take a few seconds... not 5 minutes. :D

You can also still use your Palm Desktop Hot-Sync to do the full Sync whenever you'd like, but you would use Pilot Install just when you want to load a few new programs or files to your PDA.

Pilot Install works terrific. It received excellent reviews.

I highly recommend this. :D :D :D

Thx...but isn't an cancel click on the avantgo will do the trick to cut down the sync time?

It is an excellent app. If you do a search you'll find it's been discussed many times.:)
