Hello All:
I have tried all the video players with TCPMP and MMplayer being heads and shoulders above the rest, however, about a year ago my tungsten stopped playing video properly no matter what codec, compression, or player. I read all the guides including jungle mike's but to no avail.
Now all video playback is jerky and seems to stop and go on the beginning and ending of each second of video frames. I don't know if this is a hardware failure or corrupted set of palm os 5.2.1 system files. It is over clocked to 600. That hasn't helped. Using no launchers or skinning of the os doen't help either. Even with 42meg accessable memory still the same result. I use a 1gig sandisk sd card for storage and opporation of most apps.
I haven't been able to remedy the problem. I am currently using tcpmp player with all of its codecs. This Tungsten used to play all the available videos smoothly. And, it still plays remarkably fast and smooth during benchmarking, but right back to jerky afterward. Even films with no sound are jerky in playback. I also am able to play complex games smoothly with no hiccups: e.g. zdoom and zquake with all sound and midi.
Can anyone out there help. I have found no help on the web regarding this mysterious problem.
Thanks,
Vito
