Using program like sharkbtn and keyquick will cause the problem. what to do? disable it!

using sharkbtn will NEVER cause any delay. i guarantee that because the ARM code guarantees that i only ever handle key presses! if you are pushing keys hundreds of times per second, then, well, what can i say?

Sharky its not SharkBtn causing it. Its Font4OS5 and its fonts. Pruss never made any of his software fully compatible with the UX because he doesn't have one. If you have Font4OS5 and fonts, you cannot delete the Saved Prefs on your device or you'll end up with this issue. You must backup your device using BackupMan, and restore all your files except Font4OS5, its fonts and Saved Prefs. Then you must reconfigure everything again. If this doesn't work, make a folder of all your apps and use a file manager like Palm Insider Pro or CLIEFIles or McFile to transfer your files back to RAM.

But I was on mushrooms.

Finally, I'm not the only one who experienced this! I remember asking about this a while back, but everyone was replying that it was working fine for them. So as cool as KeyQuick was, I stopped trying it out. Too bad really. I would have loved the ability to launch DAs without having to tap anywhere on the screen and control AudioPlayer as well.

My real life has been getting in the way of my playtime!! I have been traveling quite a bit and have only been able to pop in occasionally to make sure you are still runnin' thangs around here!!!

I do want to mention that I have been using the Battery Extender frequently and it has worked flawlessly every time I use it!! (I travel with the Battery extender filled with 4 2500 mAh rechargables and I also carry an additional 8 batteries + a charger! (and yes, my bags get searched EVERY time!! :()) Last night, on all of my flights, I had the Extender/cradle connected, while listening to the 6 hours of music I have on my UX and when I was done listening, my UX AND THE EB40 were fully charged!!! Now, it just doesn't get any better than that!!! And JA, I have you to thank for that!!! Keep this great forum going while I'm gone and I'll log in when I'm able!!

I will be flying off tomorrow morning and hopefully will try taking my $3 battery extender... Praying that nothing bad will happen -_-; Because, yah... it's a RadioShack battery holder with a wire taped to it.

I'm tellin' ya, bro -

JAmerican's ORIGINAL EB50 is the way to go for on-the-fly (no pun intended) recharging!! With the battery power I travel with, I could likely fly back and forth across the US probably 6-7 times before I would run out of juice!!!

Yah, it looks nice, but in all truth, I've built the exact same thing.

It's exactly the same, except that it can only charge Sony Clies.

The only thing that I haven't done is bought those crazy batteries that he uses. I'm going to see what happens with alkaline batteries. (Everyone gasps..)

I have 4 new AA alkalines charging my SJ20 now.. so it seems to work. What else seems to work, is if I put only three batteries in, and put a paper clip in in place of one, it charges devices too. (But only when off)

I was looking for the cheapest battery charger, and I found it.

edit:
4 alkalines = 6 volts.. so sounds a little much. but it's not going to be an everyday thing for me.
3 alkalines = 4.5 volts. Just enough to trickle charge when a device is off.

I would have loved to build JAmerican's setup; it would have saved me a lot of nervousness, and would have saved me an AC adapter. But for that price... it was a little much. I would need to buy the USB charger, and the battery pack. After everything, it probably could have run me $100+. So I decided to go with my $3 solution haha. I must seem really cheap now, no? Hehe :)

Er, I know that this is off topic again, but I thought I'd just finish it up here.

So I came back from Florida. The flights were short enough that I did not have to use my battery charger. However, I still brought it along anyways. Mind you, this is one of those that were speculated as potentially risky in another thread. That is, they apparently look like detonation devices for bombs that a terrorist might use. So you can understand the issue about bringing this in your carry-on luggage.

Nevertheless, I brought mine along. I started to get really nervous when the customs officer stopped the conveyor belt right when my backpack was inside. Backed it up a bit and examined the screen. It eventually came out the other side and they asked me to open the bag. They opened it and went straight for my camera bag (where I had kept the battery extender). Ah. Really nervous now. Though, I think that it was just due to the amount of AA batteries I had there. The officer felt the pouches that I kept my stuff in, including the battery extender, and let me pass. Big sigh of relief lol. I wasn't sure what to expect. Perhaps it was a stupid risk. But I can't see them arresting me for carrying a battery charger. If they want to confiscate it, then so be it.

The flight home was easier. My bag with battery extender passed through the x-ray machine and the customs officer didn't stop me or anything. Just passed through without any hitches.

At anyrate, my $3 battery extender composed of a plastic battery holder and electrical tape flew with me ok. Again, there wasn't much of a need to use it, as my UX40's battery was pretty strong throughout (watched a bit of a movie and mostly listened to MP3s).

I would have posted this post earlier (in fact last week), as the transit stop I made had a wifi hotspot. But unfortunately, being a Canadian, it's not like I'm registered for using T-Mobile hotspots. -_-; (I was also intruiged by the fact that it seems like if I were a StarHub or Maxis subscriber; Singapore and Malaysia wireless carriers respectively, I could use the T-Mobile hotspot; incidentally other countries as well. Nifty. Too bad there wasn't anything I could use haha)

Anyways. Appologies for the off topic post.

On the topic again, I was just wondering what the general concensus is for KeyQuick? A couple of us notice that it slows down our response in regards to typing. Is it just us for some reason?

I don't experience slowdowns when using WiFi like frozerino though. But then again, I'm using a UX40 + WiFi stick. So may be different.

I fly alot - almost every week. And every time I fly - even though I know the airport and TSA personnel, I get thoroughly searched nearly every time due to all of the electronic stuff that I carry including the Extended Battery. However, no one has ever questioned it's use - not once.

Which, when you think about it, is kind of scary.

offtopic: guys, i just have this on my shoppinglist. http://usb.brando.com.hk/usbbattery.php (will ship to me on the early september)

back to topic: keyquick will only causing the screen sluggish problem. k, try out in this way if you dont have bikeordie: in our clie launcher, before it went idle after 10sec, normally wil have a 3d blue cube turning on the selected application on the list, you try to hold your pen down on the screen, moving fast here and there(make the system detect keydown events) and you will found that the blue cube animation is going slow. :( if you have BikeOrDie, try the same way and you will feel that the bike is lagging on its animation.
