Hey all,
I found an auction on ebay for a TH55/E device and bid on it. But I don't want it anymore. Can someone who wants an /E device bid on it and get me out of the maximum bid. I might be kicked out anyway but just didn't want to have to end up winning it. You all might like this also.

Sorry I didn't get back to your question about eBay quicker--I didn't know you were jumping off the deep end!!
Two things:
1. I wouldn't worry too much about your bid. With 13 hours left and your current bid of WAY under $100, I'd say you'll be getting outbid with no problems. I'd be shocked if you didn't.
2. From my experience in buying any Sony PDA on eBay, I usually look for a listing that shows a photo of the actual item you will be receiving. Of course it's possible to still be legit and put up and stock photo, and there are people who will scam with the actual photo on the listing, but odds are you're better off staying away from the 'too good to be true' deals.
Even though I might only lose $50 or so, I wouldn't risk it on an item as fishy as that one--Smurf_au is right. . .doesn't add up to a real deal IMHO.
BTW--what did you put for your max bid?

why not just retract your bid?

You can't retract your bid when the auction is ending within 24 hours :) Or else everybody does this, it's unfair to the seller or other bidders.
Well, I'd bid on it if the price is really good.
Cheers!

Yeah. THe biggest issue for me buying from overseas is lack of information.
Lack of a picture of the actual item being sold.
Lack of description

Hey, don't know if you've seen this one, but here's another TH55/E that appears completely legit, with pictures. It comes with a speaker cradle, game controller and a SanDisk 512 MB MS!

If it were payday already, I'd consider bidding! Looks like it's in fantastic shape!
Steep "Buy It Now" price, though!

You could retract your bid by saying you entered the wrong bid amount, and then go back in an bid a lower price. But for the amount you are looking at, I think you will be out bid at the end anyway.

I thought it was 12hrs?
More than 12 hours before the listing ends: You can retract the bid with more than 12 hours left before the listing ends. When you do this, all your previous other bids will also be eliminated. So be sure to bid again if you are correcting a bidding error that you made.
Less than 12 hours before the listing ends: You can retract the bid within one hour of placing it. In this case, only that bid will be retracted; any other bid you placed before the last 12 hours of the listing remains valid.

JAm,
Looks like you got out of that one. Good for you 'cause it seriously looks like a scam based on the methods of payment accepted. You sure wouldn't have had any protection if you'd gotten cheated.

It's really fishing. I asked the seller if could ship to Shanghai China (w/bank transfer or mail payment), but my offer was rejected. Well, the sell is from the same city but he/she didn't want to sell it locally?
Go figure ...

Hey guys!
I actually won this exact same auction a day earlier - for $AU150!
Check it out now though, this guy's no longer a registered eBay member - and, he was trying to get me to pay with western Union as opposed to bank deposit.
Further, he would not send any pictures of the device, despite my repeated attempts to get him to do so.
Overall, a sham.
