Yeah, I saw that a little bit ago, looks really cool. If I had an iPod, I would totally want that.

If I could keep the ipod as an ipod simply add that, I would. but reformating the ipod as linux... no thank you.

I saw that a little while ago too, and when their project gets a little more stable, I will try it out on my mini.

Well, this Linux uses Dualboot. Apple Firmware/linux,

Here is the question though. If you have a PDA which can handle it (practically any os5 PDA), then that is alot better than on an iPod. Anyways, zDoom can handle a ton of other games, including wolfenstein. I know, its for cool factor, but on a PDA its practical.

We all expect/know Palm devices to be able to play Doom, an iPod is just downright weird. ;)

Because it requires the installation of Linux. Now ask that question again. :D

Oh, and talk about extremely horrid controls for a FPS.

Linux could be installed, and the iPod system thing be the only thing that runs. Or maybe a stripped-down version of Mac OS X

The thing is, is that it's a digital audio player, and a great portable HD. Apple focuses on simplicity and adding in too many things would over complicate it, and drown out its primary purpose as a music player.

But the iPod Video thing that is comeing out, might have the capability to run a game like Doom without installing Linux.

It has games, they could just have it as a game. The user doesn't have to know Linux is even there

You saw what happened after Hot Coffee. DOOM was indexed in many countries, thus a IPOD with the game may not be allowed to sel to ppl below 18.

And now say sth about germany and free speech there
