I have just bought a 256MB memory stick pro and tested its speed with my TG50 using VFSMark. The following test is done on a newly formated memory stick pro with a TG50 after a hard reset.
Clie TG50 with 256MB MSPro
------------------------------------
File Create: 122%
File Delete: 67%
File Write: 24%
File Read: 219%
File Seek: 256%
DB Export: 72%
DB Import: 385%
Record Access: 338%
Resource Access: 312%
VFSMark: 199
For the sake of comparison, this is what a 128MB memory stick runs with the same TG50:
Clie TG50 with 128MB MS
--------------------------------
File Create: 108%
File Delete: 59%
File Write: 24%
File Read: 144%
File Seek: 193%
DB Export: 75%
DB Import: 242%
Record Access: 239%
Resource Access: 218%
VFSMark: 144
The above tests tells two things:
1. TG50 actually works with Memory Stick Pro without any driver or patch;
2. Generally speaking, there is a significant speed increase using a MS Pro, especially in reading files and accessing the card resource. However, one remarkable point is that the file writing speed between MS and MS Pro are the same.
