Is anyone else experiencing problems with Quicksheet and Quickword on the TG50?
Like the tables (columns and rows) show up too large on Quicksheet and same for text in Quickword....

Yes, I'm having the same problem. I've sent an e-mail to CES to see if they have a solution. I sent this yesterday and have not yet heard a reply -- will post here when I receive.

Here is what I found out from CES so far -- looks like an OS5 issue that they have fixed in their 7.x version included with QuickOffice Premiere, but haven't yet cascaded the fix to Pro or the individual apps. Looks like they plan to do this shortly.

yes this has everything to do with OS 5, and we have it only fixed in our latest version. 7.0.
We will be updating the other versions here shortly.
Thanks,
Ross

Subject: RE: No Hi-res Fonts on my Clie TG50
I'm not so much interested in "custom fonts" as I am just having the capability I had before using a Palm OS 4.x device (Clie N760). I had no problems with QuickOffice Pro 6.2 or recent versions being able to select a smaller font to display my spreadsheet, but when I switched to my new device (using the same version of your software), I no longer could view as many columns on my spreadsheets at once (i.e., only the 2 "standard" size font selections are available now).
Is this a specific problem in supporting the new OS5 devices, or only with this specific OS5 device?
Thanks so far for your help in resolving this -- I have enjoyed your product for a number of years now and it just keeps getting better.
Thanks,

I understand what the problem is, we only support the different fonts under our premier 7.0.
We will be updating the Quikcoffice version here shortly.

Importance: High
Well, I reinstalled QOfficePro 6.2, first with the default installation options, during which time I did not get a prompt to select Palm OS5. Then, immediately after that, I reinstalled again, this time selecting "custom fonts", and making sure ALL fonts were selected, and then I was prompted for my OS, at which time I selected "Any Palm OS5 device".
I then hotsynced, fired up QuickSheet again, opened up a spreadsheet, and went to the Page-->Font... menu, and still only had the 2 standard fonts available.
Any more ideas? FYI, I am a member of a ClieSource forum (www.cliesource.com) which has a few active discussion threads on this subject in the Clie TG50 section. It is possible it could be specific to this new device, which was just introduced to the market on March 10.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help debug this problem.
Thanks,

Hello,
You need to rerun the setup program and select that you now have a Palm OS 5 Device, that should take care of it for you.

Below is the result of your feedback form. It was submitted by
.....
product: Quicksheet
Desktop OS Type: Windows 2000
Word EPalm OS version: 5.0
Word Excel Version: 2000
Quickoffice Version: 6.2.3
Support Query: I just upgraded to a new Sony Clie TG50, which has 320x320 hi-res screen and Palm OS5. Now I can't seem to get Quicksheet to display my spreadsheets in hi-res anymore. I had no problems with my older Clie N760C which had the same screen resolution.
Please let me know what I need to do to enable the hi-res fonts so I can see more of my spreadsheet at once on my screen.
Thanks,

You can also solve this problem by installing Font Bucket.

Well, I'm not so lucky. I installed QuickOffice Pro 6.2, including FontBucket and all possible fonts, and it still did not work. I uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted, reset, etc. and still did not work.
So that's why I contacted CES.
I had no issues with the same version on my old N760C.
Guess I'll wait and see if the "fix" they mention really fixes my problem.

Hi,
Well, now I'm a bit confused...
I'm running QuickOffice Premier (Quicksheet 7.0.32).
I managed to overcome the font/zoom problem by installing FontBucket. This is obviously annoying since Fontbucket takes up a ridicolous amount of memory!!!
The reason it's so annoying is that, I had Quickoffice Premier previously installed on my NR70V, without Font Bucket and it displayed tables beautifully. Only 2 zoom levels,
So, why can Quickoffice Premier display tables clearly (small fonts) when running under Palm OS4.1 without FontBucket, but not under Palm OS5 without FontBucket?
I really don't get it! To me, it does not look like a Pro or Premier issue, but more like a general Quickoffiice problem under PalmOS5 (at least on the TG50).

Yes, I believe that's what the CES support guy said in my long post on 4/2/03. I've been on vacation for the last week and haven't yet checked my work e-mail, so I'll post again here if I hear anymore. I agree, I don't want to have to install FontBucket with all the fonts to enjoy the small fonts I had with an OS 4.x machine.
