I was wondering if anyone here has this speaker cradle from Sony. I'm curious because I periodically do presentations from my TH55, and this would seem to be a nice way to augment the sound reproduction, not to mention holding the CLIE in the process.
I just didn't know what the power requirements were for it. If I just wanted to use the speaker portion for a presentation, is a power source required at all? And could that power be delivered using a BC10 (or similar) AA power supply via the USB cable?
Thanks!

The cradle doesnt accept batteries.
It has two options for u to choose. One is Audio II and the other is CLIE. If you select Audio II, u can plug other audio inputs other than clies. If u choose CLIE, u listen to it with clie staying on the cradle. You cant choose not to charge with this option. What is the difference? The Audio II option generates worse sound quality than the CLIE option does. By the way, do you record your presentation using the voice recorder of TH55?

No, I don't generally record the presentation, but I have recorded audio (& video) of seminars I've attended the last few years so that I could recall what was said or done better. In fact, my company just launched a new drug a few months ago, and we had Gov. Ann Richards (former governor of Texas) give us a speech that I recorded most of. . .turned out great!
Since I'm in pharmaceutical sales, my company often sends us short video-demo DVDs of different things, and I have a 15 minute DVD of a presentation I use in retail pharmacies a few times per quarter. This is where I think the speaker cradle would be handy--putting my TH55 in it and letting the audio play at a good volume while holding the handheld for all to see. . .I just didn't know if I could get around the power source issue. If I've got to use the full-tilt boogie AC charger, then I may as well use my Dell D410 laptop.
