Hi, I just found this video in the Internet!
I think it is amazing! It looks like a Pocket Loox to me, but I am not sure.
Have a look:

Yep, it really looks like it...
After the Treo 670 running WindowsMobile, the PocketLoox 700 running PalmOS, what's next ? A PSP running Mac OS X Tiger ?

I agree. Pocket Loox, and I have to say, that would be pretty hard to fake. It is likely someone wrote a PPC emulator that could handle the Cobalt OS. It cant be completely functional without a good amount of extra programming, but it sure looks nice.
BTW, where did you find it.

Thats looks so fake to me. And it can be easily done using After Effects. I would do something similar if I had time. You can see how the buttons doesnt really look depress when the guy taps over them especially in the launcher and when he uses the Address application and presses the "new" button my simulator reacts different by highlighting the "Last name" text input and the cursor starts blinking.
Just my two cents though we never now.

Wow, thats very nicely faked from screen shots. Must have taken quite a bit of coordination to sync the taps with the transitions, unless the transition itself was prompted by the taps.
You know it doesn't help if you pre-announce your intentions though. Does this still mean you live in fantasy land where you believe the Treo 670 is faked?
Exactly, those are rather screenshots instead of video. Video would take even more coordination for the taps. Though your theory of transitions its pretty much what he did.

fake fake fake fake fake
Care to explain???
Anyways, if it is a fake, it is a very well planned and coordinated fake.

take some screenshots of the video (use virtuadub to export as series of bitmaps). Then open one in photoshop. invert it. jack the contrast up, and turn it to grayscale. Then look at the edges of the screen.

Ill assume you are talking about the top left corner that looks like the screen is horribly misplaced?

I don't think it is a fake. dmitrygr can you make such a screenshot? I can't see there a thing. It looks real to me.
Is there an other way to see that it could be a fake?

Its fake.
just screenshots in rescoviewer (icons off) and on every stylusclick its changing to the next pic... If you see in the video you cannot see any "pressed button effects"
conclusion: FAKE! ;)

Where is the proof that it is Cobalt. That could be just SkinUI.
I also see how the buttons aren't being pressed. So it looks like its just a slideshow. - fake

It's darned good, but an obvious fake. How I - we - wish it wasn't, though!

Sorry Guys, it's a fake! It's my work. And its like Palm-David said it, every tap on the screen shows the next screenshot. A Video would need realy good coordination.
I did this video for the german Palmforum to show how easy it is to fake a Video.
But I would like to have PalmOS on my Loox :)
Best Regards

Has to be fake  But the Treo looked so real...Would someone make a Treo look like its running WM5, let alone change the casing? Or is this a past/future Treo design?

Perhaps it is time for me to give "faking it" a try. lol. Let me just find myself a camera and warm up the iBook[nevermind, it is warmed up already]. Un/fortunatly I just have a Tapwave Zodiac to do it with.

There is a beta palm emulator program called STYLETAP that lets you run many palm programs on the ppc. This is what you see in the video. What you see is real! My Loox runs programs such as Agendus , Megacalc and Smartlists To Go. The programs open very quickly and are stable. I even use icon manager on my Loox without any problems.
No conduits to the desktop though.

Tapf is a member of the german board Nexave.
He is the one behind the Lego cases for Palm handhelds!
