What is “use short preamble” in the LD’s wifi advance setting?

There is a “use short preamble” setting in the Wifi Advance Setting Option.
Does anyone know what it means?

By the way, is there any “power saving mode” for the LifeDrive’s WiFi?

The WiFi of the LD is an eat power monster.

The power saving feature turns the wifi off after a certain amount of time if it isn't being used. So that when you aren't using the network, the wifi turns off and disconnects.
