I am considering upgrading to a NZ90 and a blutooth phone (T68i or S55), but want to clarify if bluetooth will do what I want/expect it to do. Can anyone confirm if I can do the following things:

Phone calls: Leave phone in bag & use bt headset, dial phone simply from addressbook in NZ90.

SMS: Leave phone in bag, send & recieve on NZ90.

Browsing: As above.

I want to be able to do this without having to pull out the phone, scroll through menus to turn bluetooth on.

Is this how it works or am I dreaming?

I am a new NZ90 & T68i user. I have not successfully linked the two together for SMS and browsing yet. I've only acheived Bluetooth pairing. I offer this humble reply based on my research so far until more enabled minds reply.

You can achieve some of what you're asking. You can leave the phone in a bag and use a BT headseat to answer calls using the button and to make and answer calls using voice commands. (This requires the phone to remain in 'Bluetooth On' mode, which drains the battery faster. Still good performance though, considering it's GSM.)

You have to handle the phone to establish the Bluetooth connection with the handheld... Theoretically it can then be placed in a bag then SMS'd and browsed from the Clie. Again... leaving the Clie in Bluetooth mode drains the battery even faster than the T68i.

Even though you can be 'Internet connected' through GPRS and recieve phone calls... once you end the call, you must respond at the phone menu, asking if you want to stay connected.

Lastly, I don't think you'll be able to dial the T68i from the NZ90 address-book. I'd love to be wrong though.

Hope I helped

Your dream came true...or is coming true.

I have a NZ90 and a T68i.

1 - I can surf the web with it using BT

2 - I can send SMS with it without touching the phone

3 - I can read and send e-mail with it and BT, without touching the phone

4 - And with BT and a BT handset you can call using the voice recognition, thus not even touching the phone.

Yes, this is true.

Eduardo,

You've accomplished alot. If you could help me out... I'd much apprieciate it. I'm trying to do everything you mention above. I've only achieved pairing so far. I've done the research... I just can't seem to put it all together. Help please.

Thanks for the replies guys. When I've saved up the $$ I might give it a go. At the minimum, even if I do have to handle the phone it's got to be better than IR.

you cant use the three devices together

phone
palm
headset

the palm will hold the BT channel hostage so the 3 devices can't connect

yes if your phone is on and if you ask to "verify" SMS from the NZ90. SMS don't come to the palm alone ;-)

@NJL!2016

If i am not surfing the web with the palm or something,
i should be able to use the bluetooth headset...or did you
check otherwise ? Or is it that when the palm's bluetooth
function is enabled, it has permanent connection to the
t68i and thus its not possible for the phone to connect
to the headset ?

Would be a very bad thing indeed, since i was about to
buy some handsfree bluetooth telephony thing for my
car...but i would like to dial with the NZ90 (phone<->NZ90)
and then talk (phone<->handsfree telephony kit).

Any idea how this could work, anyone who has this kind
of hardware in the car ?

Regards,
Adhemar

bluetooth should allow all three devices to talk together (headset, nz90 and phone) at the same time. Can anyone verify this is either possible or not? Unless the clie does something it's not supposed to do w/bluetooth it should work.

I currently have a 6310i and bluetooth headset and I'd like to dial from the nz90's contacts and talk through the headset without ever touching the phone also.
