Hi, I read about the soon-to-be-released Legend II and was just wondering how soon it would be. I'm itching for a new pack/map to play. Can anyone let me know if there are new maps to explore? Thanks. Can't wait for Legend II.

It's cold, so Cold. That is the way it always begins: with the cold.

You find yourself standing in the streets of your city; everything is quiet and still, even peaceful. Then breaking through the quiet you hear the first scream.

You spin around, searching in vain for where it came from. Then again, and again, all around you, you hear the screams of the innocent and the guiltless. Your people! The scene of the dream changes, and now you are running searching for them, trying to find even one.
Suddenly before you stands an Evil beast, jaws opened wide to tear you to pieces. Rolling to one side by instinct, you narrowly evade the sweep of its clawed limbs. Coming to your feet instantly, you respond with all the skills at your command. With your back turned you hear the body fall to the ground, but something is wrong, it did not sound right. You know what will greet you as you turn; you have had this dream before.

You try to force yourself to wake but you are too deep in the dream and know it must run its course. You turn around. And on the ground is the body of a child, its eyes seeming to stare up at you reproachfully. Your sword slips from your fingers. How? It can not be . How is this possible?

Behind you comes a cry for help, you turn around and find yourself in the Square. The Evil Beast you slew is now everywhere. Hundreds of them, but as they come closer you realise the screams are coming from them. The realisation that these Monsters were once your people comes crashing down on you. What has happened? What black magic is this?

A voice calls out: It will come to pass.

No! you hear yourself scream No.

The voice calls again: Yes, it will occur just as you have foreseen it. No! You cry out, I will not allow this thing I will stop it. Will you indeed King of Legend, do you have the strength I wonder.

Again the dream changes and you are alone. This part of the dream is new, and you have never been here before. You turn to see the Goddess Shetar, but relief turns to dread, something is wrong; she is aged! You reach her side and she looks up at you, her voice as soft as the breeze. I do not send these dreams to you King, but I have ridden them as your sword's magic creates them. Your power grows within you, what you see is the future, King of Legend. I have not much time; even the power I use to stay in this dream drains me. If you would avert this course you must come to me at Yeltin Forest. Your old home. Please. Time is short!

With a start you wake from your dream. Bathed in sweat your mind teems with questions. You are having visions of the future! Your power is growing! What is going to happen to your people, what has happened to the Goddess? Using a calming technique taught to you by your old Swordmaster you block off the distracting thoughts and focus on the one course of action open to you. You must go to Yeltin Forest. Find Hursk and Jorn: they are in their castle quarters, and tell them what has happened. Then go to the Hall of the Sword and pick up the Sword of Karthanc. You have much to prepare for and time may be short.

Boyos, I've done a bit of the demoing and gotta tell you, Ulic's pushed the game-engine beyond what Redshift thought could be done; I fear Danny won' charge what it's worth to play this, especially with the multi-replays that're built in via the Good/Evil gamepaths and the myriad random encounters.

Plus, it's SOOOOO huge, he's had to split it up into multiple maps. Whoa. People, you won' believe it 'til you see it.


Warning: You will need MILLIONS of gold and you will need a party MUCH higher than any you have now.

Unless, of course, you've been journeying in CHAOS...

Well...
The recomendation for starting level in this expansion is going to be 22-24.

In the expansion all experience is tightly controlled!

You WILL level up in this game like never before!

As long as you put the work into it of course ;)

Also you will as gyffes said need lots of gold so get gambling now, that way you will be ready when it is released.

Failing that a win in higher levels of the Arena is worth a Million or two of Gold, so that is another way to get rich quick!

Well I am basing that party recommendation on the lowest starting party of the Beta-Testers.

Although their party is now up to level 35, they started the expansion with a party between 22-24.

Anything lower than the recommended level may be able to play but find the going a lot more difficult!

But some people like a challenge ;)

I put the question of party starting size out to the beta testers and this is what I got back.

I think a lev 22 party could survive DoK, but only just. And even then only if the party has strong fighters and strong casters and no weak links.


can get through with 22 but HARD (In the swamp was normal to lose one member right off).

Stone-Prophet actually is playing through the almost completed Legend 2 with a full party, all at level 22.

His party consists of Knight,Battlemage,Mage,Mage.

But it is HARD!!

So I will bow to pressure and say ok 24-26 starting party.

But it is more than possible to do it with a party at level 22 as the testers (Who are both Legacy Veterans) say so.

Boy can't wait for this one to come out. Legend was great. Pushed me to really look around for hidden stuff. That one was about 20-28 hours of play time.

Well Legend II has plenty of secrets as well only this time you also get rewarded xp points everytime that you find one ;)

And I don't know yet about hours of play time but Legend 2 has 3 times the amount of in game maps and is 3 times the size of Legend 1

So I am guessing a bit more time to play ;)

A good path and an evil path both lead to different endings so you are going to be playing through at least twice to get the full value out of it.

And then of course there is the three levels of the arena to compete in, which will be played most likely to raise money for enchanting items and buying a house in the High city.

So much to do in this expansion...

Get Ready as I have finished it!

But as it can only ever be released once, it is being thouroughly checked for bugs etc...

This bug testing to be thorough is going to take a while but rest assured... it is coming and it is finished !

Oh and gyffes is back on the testing team as well...
So it should not be long now.

Well testing is still continuing but the rule I am working to at the moment is this one, at least until something happens to change it.

- Pocket PC, hi-end palm, 9500, UIQ: can install every one of the three chapters at the same time and play fine!

- lo-end palm, 9200, symbian s60, smartphone: chapter by chapter

But if a player installs all of them and finds that he/she has problems later, they can and should remove the others and follow the chapter-by-chapter thing.

My goal is to make it playable across the board.

So if your device can handle Legacy... then the expansion should be able to play on everything above a T/T

( T/T testing is continuing as we speak )

As I said before though you are going to need a party at level 24-26 so...

Get ready for the release...

We have all seen 'The Usual Suspects' (the movie) havent we, well remember the bit at the end, when you work out that the cripple is kyzer soze, well, your story and the ending is JUST LIKE THAT!, it has twists and turns ALL OVER THE FREAKIN' PLACE!!!! I loved it, ????????? is suitable hard, and you 'feel' that yeah, this dude is tough, and he's the main man, after killing him, the text explains everything beautifully, fantastic

I'd say just about ANYONE who has a thing for RPGs and fantasy in general is going to fall for Legend II big time. Sure, there might be people who gripe, but the truth is you've created a stunning piece of gaming there.

p.s. i was in the low 30's, but i did some hex-editing (hex-editing is my favorite "game"...) so i'm now in the mid 50's and i have to keep a eye on the XP to keep it below 42.1M because my palm will freeze if i go higher

RIGHT, I would like to clarify that I WAS joking: Ulic's put an INCREDIBLE amount of work into Legend 2: Defenders of Karthanc. I've only seen a wee bit of the ENORMOUS (so big, he had to break it up into 3 different files, each as big as the original Legend!!) expansion he's made, but I know the guys at Redshift are fairly astonished at what Ulic's managed to get the Editor to do: Random battles are the least of it.

So, yeah, I was kidding. The raves Ulic posted above don't really do justice to the effort and creativity reflected in Legend 2: DoK.

And the best part is, the fool's only charging us $10 for the whole thing.

Before I post the link though just a couple of things I need to say :

This "Preview" version does not mean it is going to be the exact same as the game when it is released!

( I may need to change somethings although that is unlikely. )

Also any save files that you create with this "Preview" version will be incompatible with both the Demo and full game versions released later!

Been playing this one since downloading last night. Lost one of my front players in the second random battle. Highest player in the group is 27; lowest player is 24. Danny you've got a great map going here. Many more twist and decisions to think over. Can't wait for the official map release date. :)

The Preview is roughly half of the first Chapter.

But remember there are 3 Chapters in this expansion!

Hi guys

Quick question. How do you replay a mission with the same players? (i.e. not restarting with a new group of players). I have tried deleting, then re-installing the Legend 2 file but it still comes up as fully mapped and completed. :confused:

I'm sure I have seen a 'how to' on the forums before but a quick trawl came up empty handed. I'm just too lazy to go through the forums one post at a time (who has the time!) so please indulge me and tell me again how to do this.

P.S. I've completed the preview as the 'good' king now I want to try it as the 'evil' king.

I played the preview with a party that started off in the mid 20's and it was damn tough (esp those sneaky random battles!) but the great thing is I survived and gained a few levels!

Second about the leveling in Legend 2...
I kind of changed the rules a little and starting giving out real High XP rewards.
The reason why was that I wanted the player to get the feeling of a growing party as they progress in the story.
( Not an original idea ;) )
But I thought it made sense that way.. so as you play the game gets harder to keep up with you!

If you find a section of the game to hard, then just find a spot with Random battles and reap in some monster heads for a while.
At least until you feel you are ready to progress.

So yes in this expansion you will level up a lot!!

But always be on the lookout for special items!
In fangreth forest there is at least one special item, and if you can find them all you will be rewarded like never before!!

So get practicing and remember... keep searching everywhere! :)

Is there a limit to the number of expansions that will be recognized at one time? Because I can't seem to find the preview at any portal and the same thing keeps happening with Shadows as well.

Not per se... I believe the only real limit is your handheld's memory.

Legend II should be at Grendelmoore. I imagine Shadows would be, as well, but as that's such EXTREMELY betaware, I don' play wit'it.

Sorry to disagree with the venerable gyffes, but yes, there is a limit. If you have too many, Legacy will crash and refuse to load. The limit seems to be the main Legacy program plus nine expansion packs. On the tenth, it will crash.

The behavior you describe does not seem to be from the max number being exceeded.

(Well device limits really I suppose)

Some Devices can only have 3, others 2 and some can not even deal with one expansion!

That is all with old medium lo-end devices though all the medium to hi-end devices of today should have no problems and Like WildCelt said may go as high as 10 before crashing!

Have played through the demo once as a the 'good king' and loved every minute of it! Sheer brilliance. Going to play it through again as the bad guy and see what happens.

I have a question though, I think I read on another, ahem, forum that you will be able to play on from the demo when you purchase the full game, rather than having to start over from scratch. I wondered if this is correct or whether I've misunderstood or got confused.

Could someone clarify for me?

I can say that the Legend 2 is fully tested and in the hands of Redshift!

Having said that, I know that there is still some work that must be done to get it ready for release...
but it will not be much longer :)

Also to clarify your question for you...
The preview version that was released will NOT be compatible with the Demo or Full version of Legend 2.

The Offical Redshift Demo however will be compatible with the full release!

You have been playing the Preview version, not the offical Demo as that has not been released yet.

Also remember that the Preview version is roughly one sixth of the full size of Legend 2!

You still have a lot to do and the Story I am told, only gets better the deeper you play!

No matter what, you will need to start Legend II, the OFFICIAL RELEASED VERSION, from the beginning.

Well you WILL be able to continue from a save created from the Demo version.
Just not from the Preview Version (The one available for download here!)

The Demo will be the complete first Chapter minus the sequence that prepares your party for continuing on to play in the second Chapter.

So you can play the Demo to get even more of a flavour of what Legend 2 has to offer, and then use that save to continue with the Full Version.

There was a slight problem with the Symbian Release in that 2 more unique UID's were required as three separate installers are needed (one for each chapter).

The installers are built and ready!
The Redshift site is also ready to be updated.

So tonight there will be a full scale release, but by tonight I mean 12am - 2am GMT.
This is the time that Redshift usually updates there site and products.

While you are waiting I can also reveal that this expansion has more powerful equipment than has yet been seen in a Legacy Game!

But then again you will need it!

Got it playing it now. I've had a few crashes while playing. Lost a saved game; but had it backed up. Danny, would you like a PM on this?

Hmmm I think you are having problems because you have too many expansions loaded onto your device at the same time!

While I said that Hi-End devices can cope with all 3 Chapters of Legend 2 at the same time that was all that should be on the device.

How many other expansions do you have loaded onto your device?
(Remember that the chapters of Legend 2 are all accounted as a separate expansion on their own)

The expansions would be for example:
Legend 2-Chapter 1,
Legend 2-Chapter 2,
Legend 2-Chapter 3,
Legend, (The first expansion)
The official Redshift Expansion,
The Revenge Expansion,
The Lespasian Wars Expansion,
The Ring Expansion,
The Kings Aide Expansion,

.... Also the following Beta types
The Elvira Expansion,
The Chaos Expansion,
The Screnci Expansion,
The Keldark Expansion!


While I said Legacy may cope with all three chapters loaded at the same time, please make sure that none of the others above mentioned are on your device.

Have been steadily fighting my way through L II over the weekend (boy some of those monsters are really tough!!) and have a quick question. I'm on my way to fight the reaper in chapter two but I still have some open quests from chapter one. Should I have finished all the quests opened in chapter one before moving on to chapter two, or do some of them carry over?

If I should have completed them, is there any way I can go back and do them without having to restart chapter two?

I answered the above post and did not see yours, but that is a very good question!

The answer is that yes some quests do carry over!
For example...
Finding the missing boy Ruddas,
And the Metal of the Gods quest.

Going back and forth between the expansions is also possible,
But only if you have all 3 chapters on your device at the same time!

If you remove one of the chapters and then save a game all states are reset in the removed Chapter.

Which means that you would have to start that chapter over again from the beginning.

Does that make sense?
If anybody does not understand the above reply then just ask and I will try to explain it further!

Well, I never did register as a beta-tester and yet I've been able to get all of those except for Keldarks. Oh, I forgot about Omega's Concept, which BTW I wish he would finish because I've loved playing it, but can't finish since the public beta has a slight glitch. Well, if Shadows=Chaos, maybe that's why I can run Chaos, but not Shadows since they are both loaded onto my RAM.

Anyway, as soon as I can find an open week in my schedule, I'll go get your new Legend II, but until then I just can't risk it, if you know what I mean :rolleyes:

I am glad to hear that you are loving the game, the story behind it was the driving force for me.

Once I wrote that story I just had to tell it, and since I had written it with Legacy in mind... I was driven to try and make it the best game that I could!

As for the Arena... I have a tip ;)

You can teleport OUT of the arena to get more potions and then go back and the count will not be affected.

Just use that with caution and remember the Arena warning about keeping a savegame from the start in case of problems!

Also remember for every Arena monster you defeat you gain 40,000 exp points!
Keep going and you will level up and only get stronger!

Not to mention the 1,000,000xp points rewarded for winning!

I agree with you gyffes. I got a different situation going now. Need to know what the highest level you can ascertain in the game?

There is a bug that comes in at random places once your party gets too high -- sometimes even as "low" a high as in the 50s. What happens next is you'll sometimes leap from, say, 57 -> 102 -> 2xx and then the game'll freeze.

S'one of the reasons I've always abandoned parties once we got to about level 26ish.

Of course, now, level 26 is barely capable of sayin' Hi to Legend 2...

Yes there is a level up bug in the Legacy engine itself.

If never happens until a party goes above level 50!

After that the results are unpredictable, and vary from case to case.

Some experience the bug at level 51, others at 58.

It is also unexplained; I have no idea why it happens.

I got the sync to work!!!! Had to stick an external USB in to 'wake' the port up, then it recognized the Sony palm.

Stone-Prophet, one of the testers beat the Sewers Challenge at level 35-37, and that was after the Arena!

Well I got bit by that particular bug. Wouldn't you know that it happened at the most inoppertune time. I hit level 52 and it was all over after that. I went to level 55 with two player and the other two have gone to level 208; with more points than I know what to do with. Guess, this is where I star over. Right after I made it to the master weopons make and receieved the bonus points. Araggggggh. And to think the arena was next.

My problem in the arena isn't with lack of potions. I've got hundreds of the darn things! It's that one of my guys gets killed, and I can't raise dead while there's a demon spell stealer in the arena, so once one of my team get zapped, the others follow suit fairly quickly. I just can't keep anyone alive long enough to knock out the spell stealer.

Have tried various different tactics, and just can't crack it yet.

I've played Level 3 by itself 13 times and had to restart each time after making it to round 9 finally beat it again. I received the rewards and am told to go to see Lorthon to receive the balance of my rewards. Went to see Lorthon after being declared the Full Arena Champion. He wants me to go with him to see his brother, but doesn't give me the keys to the champions house? Have I missed something on this one? If i go with Lorthon; will I be able to come back and claim the house? When I go to the Arena Champion House, I'm basically told the house will remain sealed until a full arena champion claims it. Can the game be finished without claiming the house?

You must first talk to the Arena Guardian! (The Magical Red Door )

Then you can get your key!

If you go with Lorthon then you will not be able to come back (unless you teleport to a main city and then back into chapter 3)

Yes you can complete the game without going into the house... but why should you!

After all you did earn it Full Arena Champion!!!!

I wanted to give the player a better feeling of accomplishment, so I gave them the house with the trophy lined wall to really drive home the fact that YES!

Well, at the risk of you getting a big head and all, I will say that I am thouroughly enjoying playing this expansion. It is well written and very entertaining, not to mention difficult! Boy, my potion supply sure is dwindling.

I have a question as well: How do I know when I reach the "goal" of the Dangerous Area? Is there a reward other than "the elements" or some sort of dialog? Or is the real goal for me to get my butt kicked over and over?

As regards the question...
In the dangerous area you should come to a door, after stepping inside that door you will be presented with a choice!

The choice is basically to take the reward that is currently offered to you, or take on the final challenge and claim a much better reward if you can succeed!

Once you have done this then the Challenge of the Dangerous Area is Complete and there is nothing else to be found.

(Apart from the secret area, that you found which contains the elements) ;)

:confused: Hi Guys, I had a major meltdown on my T5 today. Had to reinstall everything from a backup. I had completed Legend II, But once I reinstalled everything onto my T5 the completed game is no more. Anyone else have a Memory Manager message? Legacy would let me start a new game but it wouldn't let me save or loaded a game already saved. Anyone else run into this and have an answer for this? I've taken all other maps of, with the exception of Legacy, Legend, Legend II and the MissPack loaded. No problems with this so far. No crashes until 2 hours ago. Starting from the arena again.

I may have come across a bug. I was tooling around the High City and was told I missed something (a certain statue), so I teleported back to "Chapter 2" and during my first fight realized The Sword of Karthanc was gone from my inventory! When I teleported back, it was still gone. I had to restore an old save point to get it back.

I teleported to the blue "Chapter 2." After doing some experimentation, I teleported to Grendelmoore, and then teleported to the green "Legacy2 Chapter 2" and the sword travelled with me.

EDIT: I've been trying different things, and there doesn't seem to be a way to go back into Chapter 2 without the sword disappearing! Help! I've found what I'm looking for, I just cannot bring it back with me without losing the sword.

I've had that same problem WildCelt. The only way I could find around the problem was to leave the Sword of Karthanc behind before I teleported to chapter two, having purchased the best sword I could find as a temporary replacement. Then when you teleport back you can pick up the sword again.

On a different note, I've clearly missed something, somehere as I have the rock of the Gods or whatever the sooperdooper weapon-making material is, and I've found Kilika, but I can't see him as it says something about needing to talk with the agent of the Gods. Can anyone give me a broad hint about where I might be able to find the agent of the Gods?

Did you do the Swamp Battle in the Preview Copy of the game?

Another player posted a similar problem and what happened was that they had played the preview version of the Legend 2.

Fought the 30 battles in the Swamps, and received the Metal of the gods...

The only problem with that approach is that the preview was NOT COMPATIBLE with the full version.

So the Metal of the gods will not work.

Also you can not jump backwards into Legend 2 chapters and retrace and redo this quest if you have already progressed to the next chapter.

I did not make this game so that people could jump around and get everything on the first try.

I designed it so that the player would HAVE to go back and replay the game again maybe even 3 times before finding everything.

This keeps the game fresh and interesting and increases its lifespan, as you have to put in some work to totally finish it off completely.

This is also why the Sword of Karthanc is Removed (No its not a bug) ;)

I will try to explain what happens when you change chapters, and why you lose the sword etc ..

Because the Game is split across three separate Chapters, Items in your inventory have to be checked. You already know this after playing the game or even reading the ReadMe file that came with the expansion.

I did not want players trying to smuggle in the “Improved” Sword of Karthanc into the game, so every time you enter a new Chapter the Sword is removed.

You do not notice this however as the sword is Replaced back into your inventory when you speak to the watcher! That is why you CAN NOT get the sword back when you try to retrace your steps in the game, because the watcher is no longer there!

That is also why you can not jump back and replay the 30 swamp battles, because the watcher also checks to see if you have done this task before you enter the next chapter.

So if you go back, the watcher is no longer there to check. In essence you had the chance to fight the battle but you chose not to, and now you have discovered that you will have to take another trip back through the game to either…. Find more plants with magical properties… Find some of the well hidden weapons and armour… Look out for the special keys… Fight more in the arena to get more money to buy things… Do the Metal of the gods quest before leaving the first Chapter… Or find the Gift to give to one of the two statues in Taris City (Only possible on the good path BTW)

Remember the Goddess tells you before you enter the front door at yeltin forest that you will not be back, and if you have any loose ends in this chapter to take care of them before continuing!

I am playing Legacy II and am on the second chapter in the Ogre Forest. It was all going well for me untill I came to my last Ogre and he seems to be invincible. No matter what I throw at him or what weapon I use he never loses health points. Is this a bug or have I not figured out a special weapon that I should be using?

Not a bug. Until you try to leave, you can't get to him. Now that you've triggered that part, you gotta find the access to him, s'all.

You must fight him face to face...

Look at the terrain around the Ogre and try to get next to him.

Yea you can teleport out of the Dangerous area.

It will make no difference to your game... or to the progress that you have made in the Dangerous area so far.

What glowing statue? I would kill to have one of those in the dangerous area! I have a battle mage and a mage in the back of my party and they are sorta useless in there. Magic doesn't usually work and if I take down their shields to use bows, one swipe froma Sewer Dweller is all it takes to drop them!

1. Nope, you never get access. It's not needed anymore, so it's empty. Unlike in Legend 1.

2. The force fields are also connections to Legend 1. There you had to prove your worth before you were given access to the Sword of Karthanc - now you're the king, and you don't have to prove anything. It's your offspring who'll have to take that test in due time. But first you'd need to find the Queen. :)

I just started LII yesterday with my L 25-32 party. Sofar I have had no problems. I carry the reaper and that hits hard ( two knights in front, BM and Mage in back with good strength to shoot).
I like the storyboard. Laughed a lot about the financial officer in town and some of the pictures with you guys on it. Very amusing indeed. So I will go on and see what time brings up.

Ok, FINALLY finished the "Dangerous Area"!! What a long journey that was!! It has been about 2 weeks playing on and off to finish it. Now, do you believe, I forgot how to get to the Arena!! Any hints.

I remember getting something that would disguise me, but I don't remember what it was or where I am supposed to go. Guess I took too many blows to the head from those damn Sewer Dwellers!

And I know it will be a "Duh, smack self in head" answer. lol

Oh sure, you can finish it, but you will miss a pretty incredible upgrade to a weapon.

Celtie -- to 'reset' a game, unload the map. Open your party. Save it whereever you are (if you were IN L2 at the time you removed the map, you'll appear in Grendelmoore when you "open your party"). Quit. Reload the map. Ta-da, it'll be as if you'd never been there afore.

You can do this as a cheat to "reactivate" green stones, btw.

I have now finished Legend II, it was amazing!
The only things I did not manage to do was win in the arena as I cought the bug and had not saved (idiot that I am) and I only found one of the keys. Has anyone found both of the keys?

Loving the game and can't put it down at all. Leveling up like mad, especially after the arena and dangerous place. Hoping not to get the bug as my party is now in the low 40s.

MJSN, my party of all-mages was level 26 when we hit the village in the forest. We lasted about 10 seconds.

So I bombed around Revenge for awhile, to get my spirits back up, y'know, then tried again.

This time, I studied the layout. A few judicious paralyzes should allow you to live long enough to clean house.

But you're gonna struggle everywhere else. I'm now level 32 and we can't get out of the 2nd Chapter 'cause we die die die in moments.

And Revenge is now empty, so I've nowhere else to turn for venting.

Well mjsn,
The very fact that you made it to the forest with a party at level 22 and 23 answers that question, you did get far and so CAN play it!
... well done btw :)

As for suggestions now that you have made it to the forest... try this...
Step into the door and keep using clean way to keep the Bandits of your back!

So keep letting one or two come close enough to let your fighters pummel them before clean waying them back out of harms way!

Then get to the swamps and be sure to find the mentioned statue before killing the random monsters.

Once you trigger the quest you will begin to build up some SERIOUS points :)

Ok... no there is no other way to make that much many after you have beaten level 3 in the Arena.

But yes you can come back to the house by teleporting to grendlemore and then returning to Chapter 3. (You are of course not supposed to do that... you ARE supposed to play through the evil path and THEN buy the house :) )

well i finally got the bandits house and finished with the swamp just dont know where to find the master smith and i am stuck in the taris catacombs with the riddle of moving the blocks. just cant seem to understand what to do i keep getting the reset thing. (help on this please)

Ok the number puzzle block...
The idea is to make the bottom blocks of numbers match the top set.

You do this by rotating the blocks of numbers either clockwise or counter clockwise.

If you like I can send you the solution via a PM but I think that you would most likely want to try it yourself for a little longer :)

mjsn, the puzzle is not that hard.

Move one set clockwise. Examine the result. Move another clockwise. Examine the result. You should see what the next move will result in. Do it anyway. This will reset the machine. Now try again with what you've learned through observation as your guide.

It took me 2 tries to get it and I ain' a puzzlemaster. Just EXAMINE THE RESULTS of each move.

I would like to join your thoughts ... Oh dear, the Dark Altar is hammer. Till now I tried to avoid to get circled in. Even from three sides the monsters are a usually quick and deadly challenge, but now you have them on 4 sides, two in front and back and one on each side, totally 6 of the twisted guys. Till now I didn't find a way to avoid to be circled in. I tried to teleport out, but I didn't survive long enough. That you cannot rely on magic there, makes it not easier.

My party is Adventurer, Swordmaster, Battlemage and Cleric all at Lvl 27 and served me well till now. But I'm afraid that without any idea to get past the monsters to fight them frontally, the game will be over for me :(

I have 4 mages (well, BM BM with 2 mages in back). The BMs hit like gurly-men and their hitpoints barely touch 350 (level 32). The mages are even wimpier. So with no magic and rear ACs of about 75/80, it's lightsout.

I thought I was stuck forever at the initial village with the bandit chiefs. Then I thought I was stuck at Bran's twisted children. Each time, I've managed, eventually, to go on.

But this... whoo. Just not surviving long enough to blink and w/o magic.. I've managed a single CLEAR WAY spell, but it didn' save me from the guys on the side of me.

Your guys should hit much harder than mine and have an overall AC much higher (my front two are about 125AC) than mine, so I can't believe you're dying so quickly.

Then, again, I wouldn't recommend Legend2 for anyone not yet level 26 or higher, which means you'd be about where I am, level-wise, when you hit the 2nd Reaper.

Maybe you need to go stomp around REVENGE/Expansion Pack for awhile, level up a bit more?

finally solved the blocks all on my own :) i killed those ugly reapers. and did what it told me to uninstalled chap 1 and now i am on chap 2 but i have a question,
what happens to the quests i had left in chapter one.

bring the head of the ogre
eliminate all the sewer crawlers
and i need the master smith

do i have to reinstall chap 1 and uninstall 2, or they are solved during chapter 2

whew these are really heavy duty bad guys. i need the shops to stock up on their potions quicker lol

The big magic door that leads to the Arena directly across from the door that leads to Lorthon!

And THEN go and talk to Lorthon to get your house!

Yes you can get back to the temple of balance by talking to lorthon he will take you back to the archmage... you can then enter the vortex and get to the temple of balance.

But you may have to teleport back to grendlemoore and re-enter chapter 3 if you have no "go back" location in chapter 3.

As for the story... weeeepp that was sad ending there. Lost my love (forever).
But at least I don't hear anything of that Dvorak guy ( no, that was a composer) anymore.
So soon will start legend 2 again, this time the bad path. First need some rest and restock my goodies , let my wounds heal...
Very very good game, loved it a lot. Played many games like that, but legacy, and especially L2 is by far the best of all.

Sorry to hear that you could not get to claim your house Jadal :(

For future reference though after you have defeated all three arena levels and have returned to the High City...

Turn and try to go back into the arena, the arena door will then till you that you as the full arena champion should go and speak to Lorthon and claim the key to your home!

After you get the message go to Lorthon and he will congratulate you on your awesome victory and give you the keys to your new High City Home!

Also Jadal I just wanted to say thanks for the encouragement!

I will do my best to take what I have learned and make Legend 3 better again!

There is one tree that you can get thru, I think that you have to hit it or touch it somehow and it will be out of the way but will still show up on the map as a tree.

So yes you must uninstall the expansions... save ... reinstall... etc... etc...

Yep. Several have finished and I'm still struggling through the 2nd Chapter. Danny has created a Monster (game) that took my party of all-mages and STOMPED them flat.

It's taken me several tries to get past several points in the game and I'm currently stumped by the group of baddies defending the 2nd Reaper.

See, the two up front are Battlemages. They hit like sissygurlymen. And the two in back? Mages. They can't take a hit to save their lives.

From a distance, we're deadly. Imagine CURESE/LIGHTNINGBOLT/SPARKS/POISONCLOUD as a single round of attack, each launched from someone with an INT of 80+.

Up close, with magic disabled, and REEEEEALLLY tough critters all around?

Sometimes, 3 die in one stroke.

It's ooooogly.


But I'll find a way!

I suggest you skip the Dangerous Area then! I went in with two strong hitters up front, a battlemage and mage in back and got CREAMED. Took me over a week to finally get to the end. My two front guys had about 350-400 HP each and there were times where they died from one hit! Took hundreds of potions and lots of teleports (magic doesn't work too well down there either) to finally get them thru. It's not quest related, but I wanted to try it anyway.

With an all mage, not hard hitting company I wouldn't dare to try the death dragons. I did them, and only with hard hitting knights up front and strong shooting mages in the back. These dragon seem to be immune to almost every spell I threw on them. Don't do this to you, it will be very annoying.
For the dangerous area: I had little trouble there with about the same party as godhead. Magic worked fine for me. And of course at that time I had the reaper already.
So, carfull, chief Pong.

Finished th game now as both good and bad. Whilst one ending was not that surprising, the other was completely unexpected.

One question, I have not been able to get into the castle room that required you to complete some quests. I have seen the hints about not searching when asked, but can not ever remember ever been asked to search. Any clues where this happens in the game so when I play it again I can look out for the questions?

Hey, Jadal, I nailed 'em. Took 2.5 hours of RealLife(tm), but I spanked the damned DDs. I gave in, used some of the quasi-cheat techniques. Had to: any time I forgot and went head-to-head with the DDs for two rounds in a row, we died. Fast an' oooogly.

But now, I got m'self a SoooperSword to go with the Serpent Sword and maybe, juuuusttt maaayybeeeee my All-Mages will be able to survive the 2nd Reaper combat. Heck, I've yet to SEE the 2nd Reaper, his friends keep using my skulls for billiardballs...

In the course of facing the DDs, though, I rejiggered all my armor. My Main Mage now has an INT of 167; over 1000 spellpoints, devastating CURSE/SPARKS attack.

I know, I know, this is useless around the Reaper 'cause it's so heavily No Magic, but DANG, it's nice at other times!

Think I'll go pound Ladvok again, increase the amount of armor my sissymages have.

Highlander was supposed to get a weapon bonus for "big" weapons. Due to coding error, they do not. Hence, you get no benefit from Highlanders, at all. Better off w/2 knights for true WHAM WHAM firepower.

I'm on my way thru the Well of Lazo quests on the bad path. It is great not having to be the good guy. Some very funny results too, like the kid getting his butt beaten for me stealing his mom's pie....very funny Danny! Will let you know as I progress. One good thing about going around a second time, it's much quicker!!

hmm nope you do not need to play Legend 1 to play Legend 2... but you will need a party of at least level 25-27 to survive... at least I think that is the general opinion here.

(Unless you are a bit of a masochist and take an all mage party through like somebody who for the sake of legal reasons shall remain nameless) ;)

I'm not wanting to hijack this thread, but I must be obtuse and missing something. I went through this expansion again, and am teleporting into Scarsha's realm after getting the sword, and have still not found the death dragons. I could not find any place to take the "cowards" choice. I know I'm probably missing something obvious....

Found a key where you went bust. Also found the a key belonging to the comic book baddie. But still can't get into room. Am I missing something?

I have noticed that when I start the game again the quest list does not reset itself. I start again by; transporting to Grendlemoor, saving game, remove the chapters, reload Legacy, save, come back out and load the chapters, go back in etc etc.

Being bad was different. I liked how you could choose a number of times which path to follow depending on how I felt. Especially with the ladies!! And dealing with snotty little kids.

i have been playing this game for 3 weeks now starting from the first Legacy, offical expansion, morahs plan, kings aid, andeville, revenge, lespas, ring, upto this Legend 2.

i know this might be simple but im really having trouble figuring out what do to here; my problem is how do i get to the yeltin forest? solved the bandits quest already, and other minor quests.

im still fighting the 30 battles in the swamp, the guard of the bandits people wont let me in coz they still have a meeting, there's a catacomb in the city of taris but i dont know how to get in, i have checked every doors, windows, and walls but i cant find anything....

can you pls help?

As for you, Mikle.. remember how you got into the catacombs in the first place? Also, have you spoked with EVERYONE in the refugee center?

The way to Yeltsin opens once you've done those, I think. Yeltsin forest is where Legend begins (in the courtyard of "your" house).

As Lazyborn said there are many places to be morally challenged.

I hope that you have a backup save that is not at such a high level mikle820forex.

Because anytime after hitting level 50 there is a bug that can render your save game unplayable :(

It hits randomly but the highest I think anybody has been able to get to without problems is level 57.

There is no fix available for that bug ( in case that may be your next question)

Apart from keeping a save game with a party at level 30 so that you can go back and play with them instead of starting over.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news (I hate that!)

wow! n u let him/it go with all that money?NO lailai. the riddler has never been successful in taking anything 4rm me. A hint, save often esp b/4 bumpin' into ppls' doors and if you fail 2 answer his question, load ur saved game. i think this will help.
AS for me am now a complete arena champion and has been using TWO upgraded sword of kathanc, since chap1. I even bought an endurance bow and endurance shield for 6M, so u just imagine how i finished all the arena battles without much hassle.I have levels 51 adventurer (NANA-my GF) with Hp 330 and knight (LORD B MI -my init) with HP 320 each holding one upgraded sword of kathanc. i have levels 50 mage with SP 200/hp 220 and swordmaster (alessa)holding that good bow (31-189) with +15 end and she has hp 290.

This is for sure the best adventure game ever!!!!, i mean that.

Question. Has anyone tried to play thru a second time the "bad" path and tried to become full arena champion? I get to level 2 and have to fight the Flame Servants. I kill a couple but the rest then become invincible and take no damage when hit. Doesn't matter what, I have tried Sword of Karthanc, arrows, undead weapons, all kinds of offensive magic, but nothing makes even a single hit point dent!

Anyone else having this problem?

At the beginning of the game, there is a door near your chambers in the castle called "Chamber of Arms". It tells you to complete some quests and then you can get in. My first time through, I never went back and am wondering if anyone has been in this room? What is in there?

This is why I have SOO many warnings both in the game and in the readme as far as the Arena is concerned!

ALWAYS!
keep a save game backup so that you can return to it if the arena gives you any problems.

The arena can get a little buggy because of the sheer amount of scripts that are running!

If you have come across a problem like that it seems the Legacy engine has "skipped" something.

I can tell you that all the code and all the monsters work fine, it is just on some devices the Legacy engine does not run "all" the code.

This only happens in the arena and going back to a previous save will work fine (as is highly recommended at all stages when dealing with the arena!)

Or use the PC version which will never have any problems at all!

(The reason for that is that the PC has better script handling than handheld devices!)

after killing all of fire lizards on the level 3 on the arena.. it still says i cant go to the next round coz there's still someone to kill but i have seen no one. tried hitting all corners but still the same. then when i tried going out it won let me. all it says wise choice something...that i choose to stay. tried opening the door numerous times but still the same....

the only spell i used was lightning bolt and rest are swords and bows. (hehehe... i really love seeing all these monsters line-up in the arena and hit them with my lightning bolt and every monsters on that line get toasted..

by the way where can you find the switch for the barrier on the temple of balance? tnx.

I think that is possibly the highest compliment I have been paid yet gyffes ;)

Remember,
It is only "buggy" in the arena, and once again that is ONLY because of the amount of scripts that are running to keep it all working!

The miss-count is one of the problems that may occur.

Then again you may get through with no problems at all!

Just make sure when playing in the arena that you keep one save at the very start! (In the high city before stepping into the arena itself)

Then you can always return to this point if there is any problems.
After you beat level 1 you can return to the high city and overwrite that save and then use it for a back up for future arena battles.

That's what's driving me crazy. I saved well before I entered the Arena for level 2. After I couldn't get it to work, I went down into the sewers to get the evidence and then went back again with the same results. I will try to reload again from before entering level 2. If not, will just have to skip it altho I really wanted to see what was in the house for the Full Champ since the guy didn't give me the key the first time thru as good!

still i didnt finish the level 3 in the arena...im still having problems with those fire lizards.. but i bought a house in that city for millions and i got a rebate sort of inside the house..

when i played the game i installed the chapters one-by-one...when im done with the chapter i deleted it and then installed the next one... i left chapter 1 without finishing the battle in the swamp so when i was in chapter 3 i remember that i still need to finish it but when i went back, the game tot i was a new player and the whole chapter was back to undiscovered... im too lazy to get back there and start again. but i will make sure with the bad king i'll do it.

thank you for such a great game! u know bcause of this game my TlE stylus has a rust already due to constant use and sweat..hehehe glad i transfered the game from the t650 to the TlE...i cannot think what will happen to my treo if it was there.
