Before I purchased my LD, I used a T3.
Now what to do with my T3? As an educator I would like to use the T3 in my classroom. The school uses attendance and grading software that works on a PDA, and many of my work sheets are excel based.
Will my T3 and LD co-exist on the same computer. Will I be able to sync both the T3 (grades and such) and LD (contacts calendar). Would I need to create seperate identities.
Any thoughts

You can have the same or two different identities. Different problems and features with either way.
What program is your grades in? Just the built in datebook/memopad? Some apps do not like to sync to two different devices, they will ask you to set up one as the master otherwise it would have no way of know who is right if both devices have a change to a file on the same date.
Anything else on the two devices you would want to share or not share between them?

Hi,
I do not think that it is possible at all to synch two devices wth the same ID. I tried this yesterday, and contrarily to previous versions of the Palm Desktop, this version (delivered with the LD) simply refuses to synch when the second device has the same user ID.
To solve this issue yesterday, I used the freeware program ChangeName to set up a new ID on my Clié (which I used as a backup while my LD was out of use temporarily), make a hotsync, and then set the ID back to the original one (so that the registered applications work). A bit of a hassle, but nothing else worked.
The only downside to having a different Hotsync ID on the second device is if you need to use the same application on two devices, then you are supposed to buy a second licence. Other than that, there are no downsides.

I believe that I have a simple way to keep two devices with the same ID as I have done and to back them up as needed. I have a desktop computer in one room and a laptop connected by wireless router in another. I back up and download some programs on my T1 on the desktop and do the same for my LD on the laptop. No problem (if you have two computers! Lucky me.)

My gradebook program is called EasyGrade by Orbis. They have a PDA sync that will allow the teacher to place all the data on their PDA then sync everyday to update. Most of the other things I use are excel sheets which have worked well with DocstoGo.
The only other option I would use is a calendar for scheduling my lesson plans and contact sheet for student data that the grade program does not use.
Thanks for all the input
