Hello All:
I read with great interest dmitrygr's posts and the posts of JAmerican on this forum concerning the creation of FAT32 drivers for Clie users. I was excited to hear that skou2 was able to use the FAT32 driver to read a 4 GB stick on skou2's TH55. I have a UX50. I also have a FAT32 formatted 4GB stick (formatted using a card reader on my Windows XP PC). My stick is a Sandisk Ultra II Memory Stick Pro. I scanned it for errors (none). In other words the stick is working fine.
I installed JAmerican's modification of dmitrygr's FAT32 driver into the RAM of my UX50. Unfortunately I have not been able to get the same results as skou2. When I insert the stick into the Clie it asks if I want to format the stick. When I try to format the stick I get the following message, "the handheld cannot recognize this card." When I press the stick icon I get all of the appropriate info (driver's working, etc)
What am I doing wrong?

Did you download this the FAT32.UXpatch.prc (http://jamerican.net/1src/LifeDrive/FAT32.UXpatch.prc) file. If so, did you use Palm Insider Pro, ZLauncher, Filez, McFile or any non-CLIE Files app to install it?

Oops, I neglected to perform a soft reset. The UX50 now reads the 4GB stick :)
Thanks for responding JAmerican, and thanks for all the mods.

Same. Wish I could trade in my 2 1GB sticks for a 2GB stick.

what will be the disadvantages of using FAT32 with 4Gb MS ?
Are all the applications working well with that system?

Any Sony DSP related apps won't work with the FAT32 driver such as AudioPlayer, MoviePlayer, FullMoviePlayer. PTunes and TCPMP work with it though.

Sorry that what is the meaning of "If so, did you use Palm Insider Pro, ZLauncher, Filez, McFile or any non-CLIE Files app to install it?"??
I just know use the default Palm Install Tool to install prc (application) to ux50. Indeed, I used Filez and saw fat32.prc and FATFS.prc already inside ux50, but not working.
Can anyone share with me
1. the procedures/steps of using other Files app then?
2. Also, which directory should I palce fat32.prc? Same as FATFS.prc
3. do i need to rename fat32.prc or delete FATFS.prc and etc
I have the same problems even I soft reset my ux50!!
Cheers!
