Hi All,

I have had my UX-50 for 18 months. Works great love it. This morning I took it off of the charger, and it would not power on. Hit reset, and it asked to restore last week's backup. Now the UX works "normal" until I try to get to applications, then it locks with a Fatal Reset. I tried a hard reset, with no restore and same results. I can use any buttons - camera, calendar, clock, files, calculator, setup, but tapping HOME or BACK is fatal. The error message does not give any useful information..

"ERROR... Fatal Exception. You may need to restart the handheld by performing a soft reset. Please press the RESET button [RESET]"
But it is locked and only hard reset works.

Any ideas? Is it back to Sony repair?

Yikes! now it is white screen, Green LED ON, and will not turn off or reset. I guess I will let the battery run down. and Call sony.

Looks like this might have been too hot or over-charged. I let it sit with White Screen and Green LED, not on the charger (Sony charger) for some time. Came back, turned it on, no backlight since low battery. Did a restore, and put it back on charger and no further problems.

So, one of two things... Either the UX-50 (maybe just mine) does not like August (it failed last year in August - see post) OR

It gets VERY flakey under several conditions:
-- Too Hot / overcharge
-- any internal moisture or humidity
