an amazing PDA!!!

battery sucks, fliptop screen doesnt close properly, its too bulky, weighs a ton and quite frankly it looks like a garnite brick and cant find a decent case for it!!!!

Sony could have modified the t675 and add the processor + BT +Wifi, increase the RAM, a 320x480 screen etc and loose the camera.....................

but hey who the hells complaining??

I LOVE MINE!!!!

I haven't seen anything close to what this PDA delivers. Palm trying to get into the game with a cam... I think similar to the NX type of camera (as far as quality/resolution).

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I sometimes wish I had stuck w/ the NX70. Sure the camera is better but it drains the battery so fast I rarely use it. That plus it takes 10 seconds for the camera to load. But, I like it but sure want Sony to make a faster / smaller one. I'm sure they will.

I LICK it all the time. OOPS. Like it ...

If it was 'average', 'bad' or 'sucked' then I wouldn't have been stupid enough to buy the thing.

This poll explains it all. People are getting really emotional with this CLIE. You either absolutely LOVE IT or you absolutely HATE IT :)

Oh this is the best thing I have brought. Thought that about the iPod too but that wore off faily quick. I still like my iPod but the NZ-aaah this is a love affiar. I use the camera all the time, WiFi is great, got Clie mail working great, love the new version of Clie Viwer 1.1 as it speeds up viewing photos (I guess that was my beef before-how slow Clie Viewer was but not that is a beef no longer).
I LOVE MY NZ90!!!

For people that vote 'It sucks' are the personal with poor judgement on buying stuffs. They should check thoroughly before buy it. At least read the thread before purchase. If they had bought it before any comment in cliesource, i sure they can try the demo set at electronic shop.

I still regard NZ90 is the best PDA i ever had, even though with the poor management on battery issue(maybe software problem not the battery itself) as i own Sony digital cam and it battery easily last for 4 hours with 2500 shots(1/3 shots with flash).

Maybe I'm wrong but I though that Cliew Viewer was at version 1.0 ... where did version 1.1 come from? Where did you download it from?

Thanks in advance.

Clie viewer 1.0 ad 1.1 there is no much different still very bad in managing 400+ images which i had it now. I using acid image which allow you to organise into diff. folder so that you do not need to wait for 10 min for it to regen all images.

Before I thought that everything is perfect about this clie, but the size. Anyway, I bought it. First week, I thought that's too big if compare to my T665, but suddenly these few weeks I don't know why I think my NZ looks smaller and sleeker a lot from the first week.

Something wrong with me???
By the way, I love my NZ

I'd like to thank everyone who voted, i've read in many places from people who don't own nz90 that it is big, bad and sucked, but i wanted to know what it really is from the people who have used it, as i were still in process of deciding if i should get the nz90, or some other model, now i'm convinced that the nz90 is a very good one

I'm with you Kujo2499!!!!!!!!

I was using a HandSpring Pro prior to my NZ purchase. The NZ definately felt heavier, and seemed big (taller) than my Pro. After a few weeks of having it, like anything, no notice of it's size nor weight.

For anyone who is quitting smoking.... Instead of giving in to the temptation of lighting up after a good 'romp in the hay' .... try a good game of Megasoft2000 Billiards (awesome graphics)!!!!!!! *LOL*

It's early here (6am) ... had to add a little humor into the Cliesource forum. :)

Glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing a complete and utter lack of buyer's remorse. Yea, it's bigger and heavier - but look at what we get in return! And with the built-in bluetooth hooked up to my cell phone, I can check my e-mail without having to go anywhere office-like.

Roni,

In the past few weeks I been trying out some different gadgets and here are my thoughts if you care to read them.

I bought a NZ90 and the first time I saw this thing I really like it a lot. I went to compusa many times to play with it and finally bought it. It's bi compared to other clie's but as it was already said look @ what you get.

My only complaint is that I want a case or holster to carry it and a fix on the camera app. WWW.VAJACASES.COM has told me they will try to customize a leather case for to fit the NZ90. I have requested a case with the top where the camera is to be left opened and not closed in leather. This will drop the bulkyness big time.

Waiting for the case I bought a Tungsten which is great. The keyboard in my opinion is just awsome! BUT, it's sloooow compared to the NZ and the screen is not even close to the quality of the nz. This Tungsten is for those who need email and a little or a lot web browsing. Other than this the T is of no use to me at all so I returned it.

Now I'm tryin the TG50 (NZ wanna be) and this little guy is plain awsome. It kills the NZ in every way, just kidding. It is very nice but it's just to small for me. Although it can be held with one hand I need two to really use it well. The keyboard stinks, I use to hate the keyboard of the NZ and now I love it compared to the PG50. It's very hard to type on this TG keyboard, the built in light is nice but if it's hard to type.....

The speed is the same if not a bit faster than the NZ, it feels a bit faster but I think it's because of the small screen. BT is fast and sound is nice, recording is excellent and viewing pictures and movies are top notch. But like I said to ME it's to small, I think the size of the NZ is PERFECT, yes PERFECT. After you have tried as many pda's as I have (I did not list all of them here) you will also be convinced it's true.

If you want a device just to pull out of your pocket and jot a quick note than the NZ may not be for you. Get the TG50 it will be perfect for you. The TG50 plays games just as good as the NZ, although after comparing side by side the nz is a bit better somehow (beside the screen size). Oh, and if you want the TG50 and you buy one DO NOT compare the screen to the NZ or you will regret you actually paid for the TG50 :-) Really I kid you not.

Now back to the NZ, if you want a shrunked laptop, mp3 player, video player, and camera buy the NZ. I can easily do my emails with o problem, I have Tmobile and I can finally send emails (before I could not). I cannot see myself give up the NZ, I ALMOST did for a smaller pda but could not do so after owning this puppy.

The NZ is a all around type of gadget, take it with you and you have access to the world!

Thanks for sharing the experiences, i've been trying to find all information available of it, but i haven't been able to visit any place where would be one actual model, so i'm mostly stuck to finding info and other people's experiences of it through the net, i've owned a couple of pdas till today, (palm Vx, nokia 9210 and hp 565) and i were really disappointed about the windows CE, now i'm a 100% palm os fan...
I've checked also tungsten t (i were going to get it, until i found somewhere a mention and a small pic about sony nx-70, the camera there caught my eye, and after surfing to sony web page i found the nz90) i were searching for a very good pda, and NZ90 seemed almost like a dream-come-true when i first saw it... i'm not much into games and such, though i will play a game or 2 if i have too much time and a good game available...
Perhaps i'll also try to find a case for it at some time, but now that i've made up my mind, on top of my agenda is the nz90 itself, btw, did they give a cost estimation about the price of the customized case from VAJA?

I have owned several pda's in the past--visor deluxe, prism, palm m505, and then on to Sony's. I've had the nr70, nx70 and now the nz90. This machine is by far the best one yet!
The NZ90 is packed with all the features I want and/or need.
I definately give it 2 thumbs up!

George - I'm a Tmobile too... how are you using your phone with your NZ? I didn't think that was possible. Unless you've got a bluetooth enabled phone, then what I've just said here was pointless... :)

I LOVE MY NZ90!!! What are you referring to by the Clie Viewer 1.1? Is that the one that came with the NZ? If it is the one that came with the NZ -- mine is slower than Grandma Moses.

Nick Hi Hong Kong Nick! I didn't know that you could delete Clie Viewer. I thought it was already built into the Clie. I cannot find anyplace on my Clie to delete it. I didn't think that you could delete anything that is in the Clie section. I would like to delete Clie Album, Clie Memo, and Photo Stand, because I do not use them - and there is no way to delete them. I use Splash Photo for my pictures -- love it.

Clie viewer is from Japanese site only and in jap menu. It do improve the speed 2 x at least but still limited functions. You still had to wait for extra 1s ec for every 33 photos to do inital scan. After the scan, it will pause for 10sec and need 1 sec to regen 1 photo on screen. You regen more than 60 photos and when back to see, the thumbnail need to be regen it again! So imagine i have more than 600 photos, how long do i need to wait for it? It such a pain to me although with some improvement-but not good enough.

YTTAN
04-02-2003, 08:21 PM
I highly recommend Acid Image to replace it. It do scan for once only at 1/2 sec per photo. after that you can see a page of 30 thumbnail images at a split of sec.Best of all, it can be put into separate folder too. Not all 600+ photos shoot out any at any position.

It work just like a super mini laptop to me. No need to carry at least 1-3kg +1-2kg power adapter/ cd/ fdd/bag all around your paths to work or home or anywhere like cafe.

cjones,

I do use a BT t68i with the NZ. I only had trouble SENDING email but that was resolved by setting the SMTP to 64.85.68.136 and now I' can send with NO problems. TM seems to be faster than ATT as well. I tested them both side by side.

George - what kind of speeds are you getting? Have you used Netfront with it and is it reasonable to surf the web with it? How bad does using the phone like thi s eat into your minutes plan?

How's the t68i in general for a phone?

Thanks,

I've got the Motorola V70 phone and I love it... mainly because it's such a tiny phone. Wish somebody'd make a GSM bluetooth phone that's small like that phone. :)

-chris

George M

I will check the speed tommorow. As far as netfront I don't like it because it's slow compared to blazer and webro. I'm using webpro right now and I love it because of it's features. I have a 10 mb plan and so far I used 4 mb with a lot of browsing. I do set the browser to NO IMAGES. When I do need an imagine I set it to LOW graphics.

The browsing to me is excellent becaue it does what I need it to wherever I am! If I want thunder speed and super great graphics I will need my laptop and that baby is big to carry in my pocket.

The t68 is NICE and it is tiny I would not want a phone any smaller than this, I might eat it by mistake :-) Both of these make a great team and very dependible.

Chris- The V70 is bigger than the T68i. Definitely heavier. With Cingular, I find the GPRS Internet Express works better and is faster than Cingular Home Internet for use with the Clie. Both are Cingular, but the Express is the higher speed solution that Next-Generation phones like the T68i was desinged for. T68i is a GSM Bluetooth Phone that's small like that. You have to ask for the Express it's not automatic.

George- I have a 1 MB plan. I'm guessing I should upgrade because I love surfing with the Clie.

X Gear

George M- You mentioned WebPro. Is that compatible with my NZ90 on OS5? If I found another browser, could I delete Netfront?

Also... someone tell me please- If I install and use DataViz's Documents to go, could I get rid of that Pisc. document viewer? Would I want to do that?

cjones
04-03-2003, 02:02 AM
X Gear - really??? the V70 is bigger? I guess I'll have to find one in a store somewhere so I can hold both in my hands and do the pepsi taste test. Interesting. Now the question is can I get Tmobile service on the phone here (in the Hampton Roads area of VA) and do I want to spend the extra $$$ just to do that when I've only had the v70 phone for maybe a few months?

Decisions decisions...

To dlelate the files you need a good third party file manager and some of them will find them.

Also I knoe Clie Viewers is really slow, 1.1 has only been released for the Japanese NZ90 but here is the link (BE WARNED IT IS JAPANESE): http://www.nccl.sony.co.jp/download/index.html
and select NZ90 from the drop down list

cjones
04-03-2003, 07:09 AM
Touching on several points:

X Gear - if you honestly don't ever see the need to edit documents, then the piscel view is fine. but if you want to be able to create or do any kind of editing (and let's be honest, we all probably need this ability from time to time) then you'll need docs-to-go or some other similiar product. (I did sleep well.. but I'm sure I'm gonna be tired later today.... :) )

Bryan Smith - I have found that using YiShow as my launcher gives me all the ability I need to delete files / change their names / move / beam / change their properties / etc. *very* well. It's one of the aspects of YiShow that I love. That and the ease of having background screen pictures which is what brought me the NR70V (and now the NZ90) in the first place... the huge screen real estate!

Documents to go .... well.. it is nice.... Office Premier 7.0 I think is also a nice product. Everyone has different uses for their PDAs... and my Use isn't to have it 'create word/excell/powerpoint' files. That is me.

I have useful tools here at work & home to accomplish such tasks. I have really grown to just use viewers.

Picsel viewer, while it seems cool when you launch it, isn't that good of a viewer. I'd remove it... and replace it with RepliGo.

If you can print it to a printer... you can view it with repligo. That is basically their motto. They have extensions for MS products to auto convert to REPLIGO format... or if you want to read a PDF... Visio Diagram.... Project View .... Just print it to the RepliGo Printer Driver which installs when you do the application installation. Handsdown the best viewer I've seen out there. I think they have done a bang-up job with this viewer.

If I just want to type something in... I'll use my Memo ..... but again.. that is how I like to use my PDA ... Many Many others lover their PDA to be able to write MS documents and whatnot... and to them.... check out Documents-2-go ... as well as Office Premier 7.0.

Office Premier 7.0 does give the ability to natively open files without having to run them through a conversion program/application on your computer (like Documents-2-Go).

It has some nice features.... but from what I've read... just don't run it on older PDAs... cuzzzzzz it is very sluggish and whatnot.

Is the RepliGo free, or how much does it cost and where could i get it?
