Where can I find a battery for a TJ37.
I bought the Clie TJ37 last September and have been pleased with it. Except for the battery which had been running down faster during the past few months until it was no longer holding a charge since the end of June. I believe I charged it too much, every night I left it in a charging cradle, so that it has been charged about 300 times.
I noticed some web sites had said that the TJ37 and TJ25 used compatible batteries and ordered a battery for a TJ25. After it arrived I then realized I needed a tri-wing screwdriver to take off the back cover and when that finally arrived I found out that the battery for the TJ25 was slightly too large for the TJ37.
I have not located any web sites that have the battery for the TJ37.

Did you ever try an "in-cradle" reset to see if that receovered some of your battery life?

I hadn't heard of an "in cradle "reset but will give it a try.
I did receive a response this morning to a note I sent yesterday from Sony.com/accessories (1-800-488-7669) that they had the battery available (175638111 -- $35.98 ea.). Presumedly this one should fit.

Dick J,
An in-cradle reset is performed as follows:
1. While leaving the machine turned off, plug it into the wall.
2. Use the stylus to force a soft reset (pin in back).
3. Turn off the machine as soon as booting has completed.
4. Let the machine charge for 2-3 hours past the time that it takes for the orange LED to turn off.
Supposedly, this is supposed to reset the internal batteries' "brain". It can somehow get a little "confused" over time due to multiple installations, etc.
As for instructions on changing the battery, look a little further down the thread listings on this forum for one title "TJ37, run battery down?". There are some *great* pictures that detail how to change the battery.
As for your charging habits, you may want to adjust them. First, you don't need to charge the machine overnight. I charge mine until the LED goes off (usually 2-3 hours), after letting the battery percent dip no lower than 70-80 %.

Actually, for what it's worth, other threads have stated that Lithium Ion batteries SHOULD be charged frequently and kept fully charged as much as possible. They're way different than the old nickel based batteries and don't develop a memory.
There's a lot of information on this forum about batteries. Just search for TJ37 and battery.
Cleeh had posted a nice photo tutorial not too long ago here (http://www.1src.com/forums/showpost.php?p=834515&postcount=3) showing how to replace the battery.

Because my Clie TJ37 battery life isn't what the battery life of my old 415T was because of the color screen, internet, camera, etc. sucking down more battery life, I generally try to use it with the AC cord attached when I'm home. Especially if I'm using it to go online.
And I almost always let the battery get very low. I then just plug it into its charger (AC adapter) and leave it there all day, usually on the weekends or at night. During the day it rides around, basically unused except for the contact list and camera, in my purse.
Is this a bad habit? To drain the battery to where it's beeping at me, and then (and only then) charging it? While I'm using it plugged into the wall, this isn't harming the battery in any way, is it? It seems like it goes from full strength to less than half in around a half an hour if I am online with it.
Using the Clie extensively while charging and draining the battery is not good for the battery. It's best if you recharge once the battery level reaches around 15-25%, 10% being the absolute must.

better: keep it charged as much as possible.
