Hi!
I got a Air2U bluetooth dongle and run winXP prof. on my computer. I saw on a webpage, that it is possible to share the internet connection of the computer with a PDA. Everything to set it up seems quite streight forward, so I tried it as well, since I didnīt want to buy the Softick PPP (works fine but is not as elegant). Unfortunately I donīt have the installation CD for the dongle any longer, but winXP installs it quite fine and it works with softick ppp and for file sharing etc.
BUT it does not allow me to connect my TH55 to the network. The bluetooth network-connection in my networkplace seems to be for OUTGOING connections only and I cannot create an advanced network connection where I am able to share the internet connection with the BT connection (IR, modem and cable are listed, but no BT!?)
My question is now, can a bluetooth dongle be restricted to outgoing connections only? Is the BT-stack of the TH55 not ready for networksharing? Do I have to use softick ppp then? Should I get another BT-dongle?
Hope, someone with BT-experience reads this:-)

Thanks for the link! Very valuable information there and I can recommend it!!!
It turned out that I had to bypass the windows service pack2 problem, to get my BT-device to work with the widcomm software. now I can at least share the connection to the internet. Just have to find the right settings, but that is not too difficult.

Well, setting up the shared internet connection seems not to be too easy for some reason. I followed some instructions where they said leave everything on automatic (DNA and IP detection) but that didnīt work. Then it said use the IP address of the host LAN as your DNS on the palm and some unused IP address as your IP address on the palm. Well, either way, I get a connection to my computer, no problem, but when I go into netfront and try to open a URL it says: wrong URL or invalid network settings. THAT doesnīt help, it could be anything!
Anyone out here who had similar problems and solved them? :-)

Now I donīt know what I did but it works:
Network:
User Name: .............
Password: PROMPT

details:
all automatic, ppp connection type
No script.

After connecting I went into the menuebar of network then options->view log and did a ping at the end of the log: ping www.google.com well I got a response and all excitedly switched to netfront and voila it worked as well.
Email works only with the server directly connected to my universities lan and not with my other mail services due to contacting problems, but at least internet works more or less now:-)
