I have just bought a memory sitck pro (1gb), which is supposed to be compatible with my Clie NX73v.
But the clie just shows a question mark and says it is 'unrecognised' and when i put it into my card reader on my comp it sees nothing.
I cannot reformat it. Either Way.
Any Help Much Appreciated

I had the same problem with an 256MB MS.
I did not solve it.
It is still catching dust somewhere in my drawers.
Would be great if there would be any way to bring it to life.

Non of my MS Pro Sony sticks are recognised by my card reader (even though it says it is compatible). I think they are funny creatures.
Is it Sony?
Can't your take it back to the shop?
If they have a warrenty (usually 3 to 5 years) can't you send back to manufacturer?
Are all the contacts clean?
What was you card before this.. and does that still work?

It is off Ebay, and i have questioned them.
It is sony (as I said above)
My other is Magicgate and that works on the clie but not my card reader.
I want advice on how to get it to work, not to take it back. I read a compatibility thing and it said it will work. (thats why i bought it).
Thanks

Anyone know where I can get the Clie Hacked Drives

The "hacked" drivers are for the older NX60/70 machines and will be of little or no value in an NX73.
First question is, are you sure the card reader is a newer one, designed to be able to read the MS Pro? If so, and the stick won't work in two MS Pro compatible devices, it is likely that the stick itself is hosed. If you know someone else that has a Clie, try it in one more device just for good measure.
One last resort thing to try is to use a DOS command line format instead of a format from Windows. I actually was able to recover one that way once.
Oh one thing..make sure the write protect switch is not in the protected position.

If other memory sticks work, then there will be no proken pin. I'd do as suggested. Try to find another MS Pro compatible device and if it still doesn't work, you've got a bad MS. End of story. :(
