I've only had my Treo since late March and I've gone through TWO sync cables. The one that came with the Treo failed after just a few weeks. I know the cable was bad because the Treo synced just fine with the replacement cable.
This week, the replacement cable failed.
I kept the cables plugged in to the computer all the time. They are also kept mostly wound up in a twist tie (for neatness). Could either of these factors be contributing to this ridiculous failure rate?
Is this otherwise a widely recognized phenomenon, or is this just a stretch of bad luck?
