Hello everyone.
I thought I would share this in case it hasn't been stated before.
Today I wrote an email to CompUSA sales and asked if I could purchase their PDA replacement plan for the CLIE NX70V I purchased on eBay. Here's the link I used: http://www.compusa.com/contact/contact.asp?type=sales_inquiry
Much to my surprise, I got a phone call from their Corporate Sales office and he said "Sure, we do that all the time. Some stores will not sell you their plan, but we will". :)
So I bought the 2 year plan for $99 and it WILL cover my CLIE even if I were to drop it and break the screen or anything else that would prevent it from working. My warranty is in their system under my telephone number, so all I would have to do is bring in the damaged CLIE with the serial numer I gave him and they would replace it.
The guy explained that the unit had to be new (not used or a refurb) and all I had to do was give him my serial number and fax him a copy of the eBay auction I won.
For $50 per year, seems like cheap insurance to me.
Hope this helps someone else.
Added the link to the sales department above.
