 Hello everyone,
I am a verizon plan owner and am very happy that the treo 650 is now available for my plan. My question is very simple, is there a new treo phone around the corner or is the treo 650 here to stay with us for a long time to come. I would gladly appreciate if I could get a legitimate yes or no as opposed to a standard rumor filled (maybe) answer.
Thanks for your time.

The 650 will be around for a while. There may be another Treo announced by the end of the year (would fit with the last two years of action). No one can (legally) give you a yes or no; so rumors you would have to go with.
If you will, think of it like this: the 650 just came out a few months ago for VZW, after being announced as a new model in Nov. That should give you and idea of how long it will be until you see a new Treo (on VZW).

Oh yea;
Palm only releases models twice a year, late Spring and late Fall. So around teh corner still has to wait until some leaves turn :)

If Palm keeps its current pattern, then a new Treo will be released in October of this year. I'm still going with a 650 though, since its bugs have finally been worked out.

All the Treos were released about a year apart, so what makes this year any different?

Alright you maniacs. I've been eyeing the Treo 650. It looks plain old awesome. I have some questions, if there is an FAQ someone knows about that's helpful, please post it, cause I'm kinda not sure. These questions don't deserve their own thread, so I hope no one minds that I post them here.
Basically, I'm kinda getting tired of my V551. The menus and such are kinda slow and basic. It has a bunch of scratches and on the inside the paint is coming off. I just think I want to move on to something better. Huh? what was that? Treo? ooooooo. Keep in mind I am a cingular GSM user, so my questions are based on that.
The idea of checking my email and using the PDA at college makes me giddy. Here are my questions:
-I just renewed my contract last christmas; I am a cingular customer. What kinds of deals can I hope to see if I want to get this phone? Do I have the option of renewing my contract to get a good price on a phone from Cingular, or should I stick with looking online and eBay? Anyone with experience on how they transitioned would be helpful.
-Cingular's data rate plans: How good are they? I'd probably check my email and MAYBE use the browser on occasion. What do I need? 5mb/ month? More? Anyone have any suggestions?
-How good is the OS integrated with the phone features? I've never used a PDA phone before, but I hear this is the best way to go.
-If palm is on par with their release schedule, should I wait for the newer Treo and grab one come this christmas? What do you guys think?
Any help would be appreciated.

I cant answer anything related to Cingular; I'm with Sprint. As far as OS/phone integration, I would say that (IMO) it is outstanding. As with any device, it has a few bugs here and there, but nothing so detrimental that would make me stop using it.
I'd also say that if you're that serious about getting a converged device, get it now.....I mean really, why wait? :D

So what you really want is someone to lie to you? No one can give you a definitive yes or no answer at this time. Its purely guesses or rumors....take your pick. :p
When you start hearing something definite, it'll probably be around the same time the rest of us do.

Thankyou to everyone that answered my question as to whether a new treo phone is coming out any time soon. I guess I have to be realistic and not get too greedy about a new treo when the current 650 is such a terrific device. I guess the joy of the anticipation got the best of me.
