megalauncher vs. zlauncher

I have bought both and i seem to like mega launcher better, the actual graphics seem better. Mega launcher seems like you can do more such as change individual icons, rename catigories, and has more customisation features.

I do like Zlauncher because it has a lot more available skins, the icons in zlaucnher Zoomed, and small both look very good where as megalaunchers small icons arn't very clear. I hate the tab's that most Zlauncher skins use. I also don't like how you can only change time/date, battery info on the upper system bar, megalauncher has a ton of features for the upper system bar.

Over all if Megalaucnher can get out alot more Hi-res skins, it is a much better looking, user friendly launcher.

Get your hands on ZLauncher 3 beta 1, it allows icons on the top bar, and the time, battery, memory etc on the bottom bar. You can mix em and everything. The tabs in it can be on the left, right, top or bottom in zl3b1.

I love ML4. I agree, I'd like to see more skins. ZLauncher is highly customizable, but it is far too crowded and busy for my taste. I like clean, spare design, and ML4 provides that, along with great functionality.

i agree, zlauncher is way to busy and messy, there are to many icons and bars and things everywhere, megalauncher is really clean.

where can i get zlauncher beta 3 or whatever to try?

The great thing about ZLauncher is that you can pretty much set it up to the way you like it. If you feel it's too cluttered, just remove some items from the top and buttom bars. There are options to change colours of just about anything on the screen, how the tabs are set up, how the tool panels pop up, ect ect ect. None of the other launchers offer this degree of customizability, not by a long shot.

While Zlauncher DOES have quite a few options, I think you'll find that you can customize it such that it can be as "messy" and busy as you like, or you can make it as simple as you like.

I've used both and ZLauncher is far more customizable and powerful than MegaLauncher. You can make ZL look like whatever you want, busy or austere, whereas the options are pretty limited in ML by comparison. I have some screen shots in my gallery here on the Source. The built-in file manager in ZL 2.3 is full-featured, and the new customability and tab options in the ZL 3.0 beta add yet another dimension to ZL. Plus ZZTechs updates ZL on a very frequent basis and is very responsive. OTOH, MegaSoft2000 didn't touch ML for over a year while their games were updated regularly. I have a review of both ML 4.0 and ZL 2.22 on PDA Avenue (http://www.pdaavenue.com). ZL didn't have the file manager yet in that version.

I have to agree with the ZLauncher fans here. I used to feel that ZLauncher was too busy as well - but then I realized you can take away as much of that as you'd like, to make it as busy or as sparse as you want it to be.

I love ZLauncher. :)

I just want to add to the clearing of the misconception of this "messy" issue that has been brought up. This is just due to the fact that the users do not have ample knowledge of how to make it look cleaner as esp. with the betas out now you can virtually have nothing besides icons on the screen with 2 little up and down buttons for scrolling at one extreme and at the other it can have a top bar, a bottom bar, tabs and the second set of bottom bar functions as well. So just wanted to bring that to people's attention.

Yeah, you can get real crazy and have all kinds of tools if you want. Thats what I love about it. But I didn't want to have to go back and change my setup to demonstrate that though:) . I like having some of the tools and the tabs on the side. I never used the tabs when you could only have them on the top, because I couldn't fit all the tabs I wanted on the screen at once. And I hate scrolling them. But with ZLauncher you have to freedom to do whatever you like.

You want a clean display? Here's the cleanest display available in ZLauncher--just the app icons on the screen! No trickery. This is a straight-forward capability of ZLauncher 3.0 beta 2. MegaLauncher has nothing equivalent.

I agree, that ZL is more powerfull allover than ML. But there´s
one point that made up my final decision for ML:
They have a german overlay so my Launcher is "talking" my
language to me. Not, that I have any probs in reading everthing english, but in allday use I like my launcher to be in german.

When ZZtech also will offer this, I think, I´ll jump the boat...

That's certainly understandable, but I'm not sure you'll ever see that day come. The core MS2000 folks are Russian, I believe, so other European languages aren't such a stretch. The ZZTechs folks are Chinese, which is obviously a long way from German. I think that only Li (our main ZZTechs support contact) even speaks English. They sure make a great product, though!

the guys at zztechs. They even solved nearly everything
of users wishes.
