Hello,
I'm on a business trip for a few weeks and I had to reinstall my notebook but I don't have the Palm CD for my T5 with me to install Palmdesktop (hotsync manager...).
I tried to download it from palmone but there's only a Mac Version and not Windows. I found one on the tungsten T3 page but it says that the T5 users have to install the Version from the CD....
What can I do? Is it really a different version?
Thanks,
Brad

Yes, the Desktop for OS5.4.x devices is only on CD at this time. There are differences in the Hotsync application. Any way someone can FedEx your CD? Otherwise you can telephone Palm to see if they will send you a CD. Cost is around $15 and they will need your serial number. Good luck.

Well, that's a few days without it. I hoped I can find it somewhere to download as it is a free tool for all other devices.
Thanks anyway Dick.
Anyone else can help me out before I call Palm?

I have the same problem and receive this answer from PALM
"With regard to your query that you were unable to download the software from our website, I regret to inform you that there is no downloadable version of the Palm Desktop Software for Tungsten™ T5"
Buy a Sony or a Dell
I threw my T5 away

Which is about as helpful as a sharp stick in the eye. I tried the same thing only with a live non-helpful person rather than an emailing non-helpful person and got the same response. The only difference was I could ask a question but the thing that was not different as I got the same response I would have gotten had I asked the question to my computer and email client.
Ahh now the rest of the story they don't say, because we can, we really don't care if you have problems and now that we have your money it is not all that importat if your unit is functional or not.
So, I said send me a new CD - which they did. Today I got an email telling me that my replacement unit had been shipped ...... huh?? replacement unit, all I want is a new CD. We'll see what comes in the mail in a couple of days.

I've got the CD and can upload the Palm Desktop to my website for you. Drop me an email if you still need it. I can't upload it until tonight. It will be the "Palm Desktop" directory right off the CD.

Tom, that would be GREAT if you would. I need this software as well and I can't even manage to get ahold of somebody at Palm who wants to sell the damn thing to me. If you want to email me with futher instructions or anything, my email is hendrickson30 at netscape.net.
