thks! wilsonch_98, just thought it's about time I contributed something in return for all the helpful resource I've benefited from Cliesource. Desperate for upgrade patch becoz that seems to be the only excuse stopping me from purchasing a 512MB MS Pro. Great deal too, US$235.92 (ex-shipping)

Hmm... that's a great deal?

I paid ~$32 shipped for 128MB Memory Sticks, so the equivalent memory = $128. You're paying over $100 just so that you don't have to change the stick on occasion. Seems excessive, especially in light of the fact that for Compact Flash, current price is:

512MB $109.99

It's a good deal for an MS Pro yes. CF memory doesn't work in the NX. And MS Pro is better and thus more expensive than standard Memory Sticks. So just scoot on out of here.

And MS Pro is better

In what way?

The Memory Stick Pro is a nice addition to my NZ90 and it certainly is wonderful to know that I will now be able to store up to 10,000 images. Now, if they can just come up with a battery that will take more than 5 images before locking out the flash or more than 10 before it locks out the camera. It is an absolute shame that Sony has put such a high quality camera in the NZ90 and such a lousy battery ... and then have the gall to tell me that they have heard absolutely NO ... ZERO ... complaints concerning the battery. I am trying to image how long it would take to actually take 10,000 images with the NZ90 and how many batteries you would wear out doing it. Would be an interesting math problem for someone interested. Bottomline is that the 10,000 image thing is a rediculous feature ... a selling point that has no validity.

Patrick I feel you on this point!

Hey Eddy, thanks for the update1

I have the 512 and though I can't make full use of it yet, I'm loving the fact that I can make rolling backups with backup man and not be concerned with running out of space. I'm running many apps, both small and large out of the launcher and through power run and viewing what seems to be limitless pics from clie and digi cam. I'm storing and running as many dictionary and encyclopedia databases as I want choose. I've also got many videos and about 40 songs loaded to play when the update arrives. All this without changing media and 160 megs to spare. My investment is already paying off for me. Besides, when I really need to play mp3s, take videos and snapshots I'll just switch to one of my 128s. Though I'll still use the cf for storage when and if it's ever developed (and looks like soon!) I would still use the ms as primary storage if and when the cf slot is completely compatible with other cf devices. Sony does have some nice ms devices, but for now I'd choose some of the cf devices(too manny to mention) but I hope to see the day when we have a choice. This is from someone not trying to rationalize or justify a purchase, but from one who has found a way to utilize as well as enjoy one's puchase (I may have more pics of my kids than apps on my stick!). :) The patch will make the experience that much sweeter!

Personally, I wouldn't buy off of page computer. I tried to order the same thing. They said they had it in stock, then cancelled my order right after I entered it, saying they didn't have any. Also, I have read several horror stories on cliesource about them. Just be careful

thks jedix, actually I've just rvcd mail reply from Page Computer, saying that the MS Pro is on backorder. Exactly what you were mentioning about. Guess it was just too good to be true. I might just pay an extra buck buying off the counter or something. but many thks

That's what I figured. I did get a 512 mb ms from b and h photo (bhphotovideo.com) for $269.95 plus shipping. They had really fast service and i was pleased with them. There might be better deals, but that's what I did.

I bought from B&H Photo too (I needed an international shipping merchant). I'm really pleased with their service too. Lightning fast (for US to europe shipping) service yes. I was kinda bummed out that PageComputer wouldn't send internationally. I guess I was lucky ;)
