I just got a Garmin IQUE 3600 in a trade.
I'm mainly gonna use it for GPS and car navigation use. as I already have IPAQ for my PDA use.
last time I own a palm unit was in 2000 (ahh my beloved Palm Vx)
I already have a mount for my windshield and that is will the unit will spend almost all it's time. (I got it wired to the tape deck for audio and charging)
I'm looking for recommendation on programs that I can use while the unit is in the car/mounted on.
the only thing I can think of is a mp3 player. it already have one but the interface. button is small it's hard to use while driving. is there any mp3 player that have Big buttons on it's user interface? and support hardware buttons as play control?
that way it's easier to use.
(cool winamp visualization would be cool too :)
anyone else got any idea what cool program I can put in it for car use? something pretty with colorful lights to hypnotize people in other cars that look into my car? hehe

Pocket tunes is a nice MP3/OGG/WMA player; there are various skins available, some of which are with large buttons.

This one pretty much might do that... Itīs a screensaver with multiple generate-settings.

Geniv,
Congrats on your iQue 3600! Just like you, I decided to get one last week rather than getting those $800+ navigation gadgets. I would have adviced though that you should have gotten Garmin's windshield mount since it comes with a power adapter already and speakers so you can hear the voice prompts. With it, you don't need to use your tape deck and you can just use your car radio to listen to music. ;)

I have the car kit with the bean bag thign for the dash board. it works but it's annoying. it's kinda far from my field of view so the display/text is small and harder to reach and tap the buttons/screen
I unhooked the 12v adaptorer/back mout and crazy glue it to an old windshield suction mount.
it's right now on my left side windshield close to my steering wheel above it. it's very vieable and big beccause it's closer to my eye and it is easier to control.
the ique is charged from the base/mount and the audio is on casette adaptor. my music comes in clear and loud to the radio and the direction prompt is loud.
Is it just me or do alot of people tend to stare into my car when I have the ique turned on and in operation.
hehehe

anyone know of a security program that when u turn it on it has a key pad that ask u to punch in a number code? (similiar to the power on password function of the pocket pc but with big keypad)
