I was thinking about getting the IR keyboard from p1 but read on p1's forum someone posted that after the installation of the keyboard, their LD slowed to a crawl. i believe they installed the new drivers for the thing also.
my question is, has anyone else had any experience with p1 ir keyboard or any other ir/bluetooth keyboards? does it really slow your ld down? anyone had a good experience with them? thanks in advance.

I have a Stowaway Universal Bluetooth Keyboard by Think Outside and love it! It does not readily say for Palm on the outside packaging, but I went to their website before purchasing it. I found that it does indeed work with the Palm OS. I bought it and installed the driver software on my LifeDrive. I have not had any problems with it, and it does not seem to slow down my LD. I also let a friend try it with her Treo 650. She is now about to buy one.
Hope this bit of info helps!

I have the P1 IR keybopard and have downloaded the drivers from the website. It does not slow down my Lifedrive. The only thing I am noticeing now and I do not know if it is related or not, is that the built in keyboard sometimes starts to make a clicking noise like you are holding down a key on a regular keyboard. It also sometimes does just that sticks on a key and runs across the screen. I have only noticed in the application Videolist so I am not sure if it is an application problem or if it is related to the IR keyboard. I can say that I did not notice the clicking problem prior to installing the IR drivers.

thanks for the reply. i found them both very helpful. thank you both
a question though, how is your battery life when you use the keyboards? does it drain the battery much? i've noticed when i use my bluetooth for anything, it wears the batter down. i have not used the ir port on it though. thanks

I have not noticed any real battery drain. I do recharge my LifeDrive every chance I get, so it may be draining faster without my noticing it.
