If I upgrade from my SJ-20 to a new SJ-30 can I just hotsynch the new SJ-30 (as long as I use the same user name) and all will hotsynch seemlessly? -OR- do I need to do something else?

How is it a small price difference if you have to buy the PDA in addition to the previous PDA. He's not getting full money back on an SJ20 and only paying the difference of an SJ30 from an SJ20....

List difference is about $50. You sell the SJ20 at a discount.
