Yes. It can play ringtones and MP3 sound files and such...

So you can listen to Mp3's through the speaker, if you don't want to use headphones? Also, will games that have polyphonic sounds be heard through the speaker? Thanks alot for your help!!! :)

Yeah, but I suggest you get a pair of headphones for MP3s since the stock headphones that come with unit sucks. Also, the speaker isn't powerful enough play your MP3s really loud. Games that utilize polyphonic speakers will sound great in the SJ33 though, there's no argument there.

MP3's aren't loud but you can hear them. The version of Bejeweled that comes with the SJ33 also used enhanced sound which seems plenty loud to me. Zap 2016 also has enhanced sound as do some of the other demo games on the CD. It's quite a nice change. Kinoma player can also be heard through the speaker. Alarms are great too, much louder than many Palm OS devices.
