Hola, peoples. I'm starting this thread for anyone with questions about the newest addition to the Legacy world: the Lespasian War.
I've been through it a few times, though only in beta versions, and the author's made substantial changes since I last visited; I'll be replaying the latest version (see Handango) this weekend to try an' ferret out all the secrets. This is a great map with some interesting twists that casual players might struggle with.
Happy Legacying!
Oh -- forgot to mention suggested starting level: umm.. I'd say, 18-20th level, depending 'pon your party's makeup. The author recommends Lespas for those who've just finished LEGEND.
:( I just discovered a bug we thought we'd gotten rid of -- until Plinny gets this fixed, DO NOT USE CURSE ON GWEE-DOOOO (and to be safe, don' try it on ANY of the gnomes!)
 Well, the author assures me his code is clean, so it's possible I have an older version. For the record, the bug that _I_ have works like this: Cast CURSE at a critter and JUST as the 'spell image' hits, Legacy on my laptop freezes. I need to use Task manager to kill the process. However, the game starts back up again and I easily can resume from the last save (hint: SAVE OFTEN!)
Hi gyffes. :) Nice to see more expansions out like this and the Ring. Guess I have to give them a go on my treo now.

Hi, I just purchased this module and am stuck. I found all prisoners, found cach in cell 6, killed all guards, found storage room, found mess hall, guards quarters and locked door to Wardens Quarters. I have touched every wall and door and can't find a key for the door any where, let along Jareds Skalroot. Can you give me a hint? I love Legacy games and tend to consume them. Oh I am at Levels 13 & 14 with a swordmaster, highlander, battlemage and mage.
Go back to the guards quarters and try again, (click, click, click).

Pireic, you're going to struggle with a party that level. But struggle is good, no?
In the future, try to be a bit more oblique when discussing things (hidden cache, for example), for those who've not yet visited these places, eh? Why spoil others' fun?

Oops sorry, I don't want to give anything away. I got to the rock quarry and thought I had acomplished the quest but am stuck again. so I have gone back to main world to try to level up some more.

Have you talked to anyone?
If not, you need to.
If you have, you need to listen to them.

One of the things I liked about the Quarry part is that it forces you to explore the ENTIRE area -- and, if whileyou do that you sorta keep your eye out for likely places for the hideout to be, you are ahead of the game.
Obvious Hint: check the edges.

darn fine module!
I'm been playing for a couple of days, and my party (18-20th level) is stuck at the Garden of Eden...got the apple, got the Blue Crypt Key, but can't figure what do do with them (or the Holy Cross either)
Any help would be appreciated...
Keep going. You will know what to do with them when the time comes.

Boy, this one has been hard for me. I've played all of the other ones, but this one has had me stumped in several places.
I'm stuck now in the Eastern Ruins forest looking for an axe. Am I missing something obvious? I cannot find the darn thing!
That one gave me some problems too. Have you been under the ruins?
gyffes
07-11-2005, 10:58 AM
Remember, the ruins are MORE than merly a few broken walls ABOVE GROUND...
WildCelt
07-11-2005, 11:08 AM
Hmm. OK, so how do I get under them? I've checked all the walls, but I guess I'll double check.

Don' forget -- there often is more to ruins THAN YOU SEE ABOVE GROUND!
WildCelt
07-11-2005, 12:41 PM
<sigh> Crap, I guess I'm just not getting it...
I am not sure what I should be looking for. I haven't found any switches or ladders.
gyffes
07-11-2005, 02:29 PM
Ok, Celt.. do this:
Examine EVERY INCH of the ruined walls.
Ain' that much wall there, look CAREFULLY.
Then, smack y'self in the head when you find what you seek.
WildCelt
07-11-2005, 02:54 PM
OK, smacking has commenced.
Wow, this has been one of the most frustrating expansions (next to Chaos) that I've played!
Thanks for the help.

07-11-2005, 03:00 PM
Yes... Plinny was fond of those little switches, an' they don' get easier to find (you're about to head into the teeth of 'em.. return beggin' for help all nice-like an' we might offer some...), but you should've figgered that out from the trouble you had just gettin' out of prison!
I'll second that! Almost every time I get caught somewhere, it usually is a switch I missed, so check for those first before you give up.

I think I have found a bug. I got the wine ticket and was trying to figure out what do next, went into tavern, left tried to enter spell shop (it was night) then got a fatal exception reset on my Zodiac 2, after I reset and tried to go into Legacy I got a message that the application Legacy has been inappropriately modified. Who should I report this to? I am finding this expansion exceptionally tedious at times, but am managing to find the switches by touching every single thing I can. Thanks for any asisstance
gyffes
07-13-2005, 02:46 PM
Hmph. So, you can't open Legacy AT ALL? Neither "new" party or Load existing party? Or are you only trying to "load party saved at last exit"?
May have a corrupted savefile, at this point. Email a copy of it with the message you just posted to stewe@redshift.hu and see if he can fix it.
Another, more drastic option (but probably a quicker fix) is to reload Legacy from your installer. You can move any backed-up savefiles back onto the machine and you won' have lost anything. Do Zodiacs have backups?
piriec
07-13-2005, 03:31 PM
I had to uninstall and relaod my back ups, so far it looks ok. I will keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the contact info. Now what to do after giving the apple to the priest? The search for the next quest continues. I was unable to open Legacy at all.
gyffes
07-13-2005, 03:37 PM
Stewe is Legacy's technical designer/coder, so that's why I gave you his name.
Keep walking around, you'll find needed activities. You've been in the crypt, yeh?
piriec
07-13-2005, 05:44 PM
Yep, I cleaned it out, then got the apple, beat the arena, now wondering the city. I get frustrated periodically but if I keep searching and trying differant outlooks I manage to find the next quest. I am at 18/19 level and still alive so I guess if you can figure out which weapons and spells work in the best combination you can go pretty far. I really like Legacy games more any other I have tried.

Hi there. Please help me. I've looked everywhere but failed to find the token for the guard at Trondoor so that he will let me in. I found some muscle-relaxing mushrooms and don't know what to do with them. Thanks so much. I've been looking around for days. Please, please help me.

Hey Belleale,
I found clues at pdarcade.com and finally found the token! I don't think some players would be pleased if I revealed the position outright but let's just say it's lying around on the ground just like the coins at Beraquel. Anyway, you can PM me if you wish to know the answer.

I finally found the Troondoor token and am able to enter Troondoor. However, I'm at my wits end again over the following:
1. Where can I find brother Belcinot's crucifix? I've finecombed the entire area outside Lespas, having sneaked out through a hole at the Government Quarters.
2. Big question: I can't do much at the Troondoor Keep except wander around talking to Father Bilnar and the Ladvok Shiner, collecting stuff from the urns, touching Ladvok (which does not result in anything). I've hit and touched all the walls but nothing happens. I haven't got the key to put into the keyhole.
3. How long does the Undertaker's wife need before she can provide me with something that has been promised by her husband?
4. I notice a janitor in the Meeting Hall who keeps on telling me that the Government will only commence business on Monday. I've spent thousands of gold currency at the inn trying to catch Monday but to no avail.
I'm happy to note that the Lespasian Wars is written in better English as compared to some earlier games (which are equally great and exciting, language notwithstanding!). This makes it easier for me to understand instructions, notes etc. Good job fellas!

Thanks NimitzClass,
I am going to check one last place before I give in... your advice about pdarcade may have done it for me. I also found the mushrooms... that was fun. :)
Anyway, back to the game... Thanks again.
Stuck!
07-18-2005, 09:10 AM
Ok, I'm finally stuck enough to request help, I think. I'm in Lespas, I've gone through the church, the crypt, and the Garden of Eden. I've returned the axe and the yellow flower. I'm stuck just wandering through Lespas. I don't have any quests left, and I can't leave the city. What do I do next? Who do I need to see? Is there something/someone that can't point me in the right direction?
Thanks very much!
Belleale
07-18-2005, 02:13 PM
I found the crusifix (I am not sure I remember exactly where, but I think I might- pm me and I will tell you) and as for the undertaker's wife... Hint- have you found the undertaker yet? You need to finish his quest, then he will direct you to his wife.

This expansion has frustrated me like no other! I can usually get through them pretty well, but this one has me stumped in many places.
I cannot find that stupid token. And, is there something at the Melker Temple I'm missing? All I see is a bunch of statues.
Belleale

There is a hint for the location of the token at pdarcade.com: "find it in a misty haze". Hope that helps.

And the temple is a small bit of bonus, gameplay is not keyed to success at the temple, so admire it, try a few statues, go on your way.
Or, stay and bash your head on the statues for hours. The choice, much as Republicans hate to admit it, is yours!

Hi all,
I've gotten to the chapel and into the crypt where I found the apple. I faced the arena and got past that and into the government quarter with the city key. I got into the senator's offices (1 locked), and into the meeting room (though nobody was meeting). The administrative offices are locked and I can't get in.
My problem is that I no longer have quests and the only way out of the city is to the Eastern ruins. One exit is blocked to me, and the exit from the prisoner's hideout is also blocked.
I've checked all of the walls in the government quarter for secret buttons and found nothing, so can someone give me a hint as to what to do/where to go next?
Thanks,
Phillip

Phendric, dear, there is a building in the gov't quarters you CAN enter. Look around in there a bit more carefully. You'll find a way out.
Hero, Ladvok needs a special weapon to kill him/her/it. To acquire this, you need to visit a chick in the swamp. To see her, you need to find a map hidden in the crypt of St. Whassisname.
Gooood luck.

You have to get close to her house before it appears, if you have the map, and it sounds like you do. In the swamp, SPOILER>>>>
go to the NorthWest corner about 3/4 of an inch in from the top and west edge. The house should appear with no effort on your part.

Ok, made almost all the way through the game without hints or help but now I'm stuck on somthing that's probably really easy: I can't find the judge.
The lady says the town judge has the weapon my party needs but I've searched every house in Troondor and the keep (all but the top floor)--and still nothing. Is this simply a case of having to revisit every place I've ever been in the last several maps (north Lespas, Swamp, etc.) to see if one of the formerly locked doors to some non-descript hut is now populated with said judge?
Er, also, any hints about where to find somethig to help the soldier?

Well, as that's a HORRENDOUSLY inadequate description of what you've accomplished/where you've been/where you're trying to go, I'm not sure we'll be able to help you, much. Here are some questions you should answer for to receive more assitance:
1) Easter? Eastern?
2) You're IN the ruins, yeh?
3) You've entered the teleporter, yeh?
4) You've searched EVERYWHERE in the area to which you've been teleported?
5) You've opened the second bit of wall just next to that annoying corner piece you gott when you first entered the ruins?
See where I'm goin' with this? We need to know what you've done to point you further.

H
gyffes
08-04-2005, 12:51 PM
Right, that's much better.
First, no keyhole does nothing -- you jus don' have the correct key, yet.
Looking at your map, do you have TWO "removed" blocks side by side to the RIGHT of where you entered the ruins?
hgsmith
08-04-2005, 01:06 PM
with my back to the entry ladder there is a locked door (with a face on it).
To my right there is a passage with one removed block, after "the office" sign and a door.

Ok. Somewhere in the part of the dungeon you're in is a switch that, when pressed, will cause the 2nd bit of wall to crumble so you can go to the NEXT part of the dungeon, find the key that'll open the locked door and continue on.
Unfortunately, I'm not having success re-FINDING the switch I just mentioned, but it's there. I'll keep lookin' in case you just can't find it. Look in corners -- I say that from memory, not 'cause I found it, yet.

I finished the game but there are two things I still wonder about.
One, in the Melker temple is there a certain order to bow to the statutes and does that do anything.
Two, in the grave rober's hideout, in the animal zoo, one door does not have a lever. Is there a way to open it?
gyffes
08-24-2005, 09:16 AM
2) Nope, don' worry about it.
1) There IS an order, it's not that hard to find (brute force -- try EVERY combination, there are only 24); the prize for discovery ain' that bad.

I am wondering if there are any other expansions out there or any other quests to tackle. So far I have finished:
Legacy
Legacy Official Expansion Pack
Revenge
The Legend (including the secret dragons room at the end- easy)
Lespasian War
The Ring
Morah's plan
King's Aide
I think that some time ago there was talk about a Revenge 2 or a Legeng 2. Did they ever materialize?
gyffes
08-24-2005, 01:31 PM
Revenge 2 has become vaporware due to the vagaries of Real Life, damnitall.
Legend 2 is verymuch a reality and should be available within a few months, provided the developer ever stops adding features and just says, "FINIT!"

I had trouble with the mushrooms also, I think I just wondered systematically in the forests and finally found them. Sorry I can't be more help.
That I can do, but what do they look like? I will head back and try again.

I love the story in Lespasian Wars but I've had a lot of trouble generally figuring out what the game wants me to look for next. The latest problem is with that Ardune dame that a lot of other people seem to be having trouble with - the little tart. My issue is a little different from what I've read so far. I found the map in the crypt. I went to see Ardune who sent me to the grave robbers' hide out. I killed all the robber's beloved animals in the zoo, except for whatever was behind the blue door, which I couldn't open. (Yes, I did go around looking for random wall switches - which is the most annoying part of this particular expansion.) When I went back to Argune she gave me a big speech about her terrible childhood and then nothing. Was I supposed to give her something else? Is there something important behind that blue door? Is the answer so embarassingly obvious that you all are laughing at my stupidity right now.
One other issue - I've found some mushrooms in the forest but whenever I try to pick them up the game crashes. (I'm playing Legacy on my Nokia 6600.)
Lastly, what the heck is going on with those 6 statues in the church. For all but one of them you're not given the option to examine them. So how exactly am I to touch them in order? (I've tried attacking them already - which seems a little sacreligous but what the hey.)
Thanks.

The guys you touch in some to-be-discovered order are NOT in the church, they're in the Melkor temple. There are but 4 of them.
As to your other questions... I'll leave those for someone else.
Oh Gyffffessssss?

09-19-2005, 07:08 AM
Thanks Ghostly. I already had all the stuff from the Melkor Temple so that takes care of my second question. Now if only I could give that Ardune chick some poison forest mushrooms then maybe all my Lespasian problems would be solved.
I have noticed one other thing. It seems like there might be another section of the crypt I haven't explored yet. I found the big room where Ardune's map was hidden but it seems like there should be more map to the right of that section. Is there some way to fall through the holes in floor in that room in the crypt? I couldn't find anything to open them, but they seem sort of pointless just sitting there. A red herring maybe.

The mushrooms are for someone else.
The holes are merely for looks (someone's been diggin' in the crypts, doncha know?).

I figured the mushrooms are probably for the guard in Troondor, but not much I can do about that when the game crashes every time I try pick them up.
Any thoughts about the blue door in the zoo?

So the problem is with Ardune. I thought as much. She seems the femme fatale type. Was she supposed to give me something when I came back from the zoo? She told me the long story about how they destroyed her town, killed her family, yada yada yada. I just need the dang sword. Ladvok is just sitting there waiting for me to come kill her - probably bored to tears, the poor thing.

Hi, I'm stuck in a situation which has been already described here, but neither your clues nor banging onto my head is not leading to satisfaction.
Well, I'm walking in Lespas and tryin' to speak with anybody to get in the Government Quarter. No success. I found the apple, showed it to the "bad father" - he escaped (where?) - and I'm stuck. No quests, no way to go. I've got the government documents, i've got the wine ticket but answer of the guard in front of the gov.quart. is always the same - that i've no business there. What did I missed? Who(where) I need to talk to? Walking around again and again and again is really annoying... help will be appreciated :-) thx

You gotta get some wine in exchange for your ticket. Look for a door at the end of a short corridor.

Hello, my doubt is the following: Because nobody still discovered as opening the blue door in the Zoo?
It is here my critic in relation to those insoluble jigsaw puzzles that the times the game has that it finishes us making to go through the Internet in search of solutions. It saddens me that situation type. The Game is good, but I think should have more jogabilidade, because it is a bother to have to be clicking in walls per hours behind a secret passage without sense none. I think Redshift should review that situation type.
Forgive English, but I am Brazilian and I am using a translator, then it should be full of mistakes that I am saying.. :(

Hail ;)
Finished Lespasian War.
Some questions after all.
1st. I have closed gates in Lespas. Upper one on map.
2nd. I have Brother Belcinot in my inventory. Did i miss something?
3d. Blue door in Zoo - but as it was in this tread - no way to open it - right?
Thank you.

Blue door don' open.
Katarsiis, Lespas is a lovely map, esp for a first timer, but sometimes Pliny slipped, as when he failed to remove certain items from your inventory.
Not sure which gates you have in Lespas still closed -- ultimately, you should be able to get out everywhere.

I also still have the Brother in my inventory.
However, I do not remember what I was supposed to do with him an dtherefore I'm not sure I did it or not!
Or wouldn't I have been able to finish the quest without doing that something with him?

YES, I DID IT! Bu the way I've found two more secret places :)
For now, I'm trying to find, where should I use "blue crypt key to" - I've found the first prisoner that died after giving me that key. After that I've found Garden of Eden, freed the others, got apple, fullfilled the quest from one of brother and made the other run away, but could'n find a use for this key. And have no Idea how can I get alcohol to make the guard drunk to get out of Lespas. Probably, this two thing are somehow related, but for now I'm sure I've touched EACH corner wall and EACH statue, standed on EACH plate (even harmful ones). I have no idea, what can I do for now in that f..... that crypt, and I'm not glad imagining trying all this once again.

Well, I've found a man that offers me a wine ticket, and it appears in my inventory. After that I go to that woman, "flash the ticket" and "receive Shiraz", and it DOES NOT appear in my inventory! I speak with guards - with usual result - return to that man, he gives me the wine ticket, I receive Shiraz, it doesn't appear, I speak with guards, go to that man...
I've done this FIVE times! Should I keep on trying?? Or I'm just dumb or is that a bug still?
And I still don't realize, where should I use Blue Crypt Key to.

That's all. I'm stuck. I've tried once more to test all eals etc in the Crypt - found nothing new. I've tried all doors in the city, but found nothing interesting. Seems like the problem is a bug preventing me from receiving Shiraz and so I can't give it to guard. But I see everyone here did that, I can't figure out the problem :( Am I doing everything right?
Gyffes, if so - maybe you could attach my savegame and try to get the wine? I'm in despair...

Ca'at, you seem to have what you need to get the Shiraz for the guard. Did you happen to find any shiraz in the barrels in the church? Perhaps the guard'll accept that, instead? I'm not sure why the ticket-system isn't working for you.
As for the catacombs under the church: You got the apple, did you get a MAP?
Did you finally finish the Minar Underground quest? You must've if you got into the church, yeh?

Yes, as I mentioned I've already finished with Eastern Ruins, I've returned the axe, I've finished with that two dumb boys, I've discovered, what that pervert Father (Sexy Sadie, heh) does in his Garden of Eden, I've got the Apple and the Map to someone's house as well. It just doesn't work. I've got the Wine Ticket in my inventory, then I go and speek with both guards near closed gates, and they send me away. So I go to the Suspicious Women and she gives me Shiraz after a short talk. Okay - I am missing something here and need some help (like many others)!! :)
After getting Ardune's map, I visit Ardune, trash the robbers and the zoo.
Go back to Ardune and listen to a sop story. Pliny, you have created a character we all love to hate and to slap some sense into her! :)
She gives me some flowers (from Ardune).
Now where do I go next? Back to the city?
I have tried the gates up north, but he's always asking for a token. Apparently, he doesn't like flowers...!

I'll have to reset the map and try it again...... :(

Nova12
11-05-2005, 02:18 AM
Well, I went through again after resetting the map....thankfully, I saved the game just before entering the underground, 'cause I came across something that puzzled me greatly - after zooming around doing everything else EXCEPT tapping the supposed alcove with the switch for the second wall, I looked at my map and found the second wall gone!!!!
I went back to the saved game and went step by step, saving at intervals, until I got to the area where this had happened; then, I went through a few scenarios and the same thing occurred - the second wall fell when I picked up the Minarian half-key!
Now, my memory can be faulty, but I DON'T think that happened on the very first time I went through. Gyffes, do you have any suggestions on why this might be the case??? (Not that I'm complaining, mind....this is a lot easier than hunting for a bloody switch ;) )

LOL Gyffes, give yourself a break - Lespas wasn't loading, and you were busy with L2 when that question came up. You got the shape right - as the "working ladies" might say, don't fuss about the position ;)
Thankfully, I didn't have to worry about TOO easy with my teams when starting them up. I played around with a few "starters" just to get used to it, then went blithely through most of the commercial expansions. With freebies such as Elvira and Shoptown [whoops - duck! :) ], having a new map to explore was enough to compensate for any easiness....though I found Elvira a bit boring anyway, 'cause it's just not my style. I found the Shoptown maze more interesting, and Lespasian Wars much more so, than Elvira.
I briefly explored L2 with one of my "starter" teams, but will be going back through it once I build up my current group.

I finished Lespasian Wars and still had a blue crypt key left over. I started the module over adn got another blue crypt key, byt I can't find anywhere to use it. I found several post here from others that could not find what to do with it, but none had any answers.
Is it in the Crypt? if your clue is too much of a spoiler, you have my person email address. let me know.
Thanks,
Mark

Some items aren't always removed from inventory due to ... incautious.. coding. I believe Pliny'd originally intended the Blue Crypt Key to work in a different way and removed/forgot about it (think: Old Gold Chain in Legend -- non-saleable, no use for it) when finishing up the game.
Don't worry about it. If you've killed Ladvok, you're done with Lespas.
What's next?

Gyffes,
Thanks, that Blue Crypt key was driving me nuts.
BTW, I have a couple of quests left from my early first days of Legacy. Is there any way to remove those from the quest list?
As far as what's Next, I need about another 100K to get everyone leveled up to 33 & 34, then its back to Legacy II, but I think I'll start over with Ch1 rather than where I left off at the beginning of Ch 2.

What quests? Most you should be able to go resolve. Only The Ring, I believe, is egregious about leaving quests on the chart after you've finished them.
Right, starting over is good way to get level'd up.
And 33/34.. just about ready to try the Death Dragons, eh?

I've checked EVERY single wall section and every square pixel in St. Vendar's crypt and the Garden of Eden for the map to the woman in the swamp. I'm not having any luck. Can some kind soul please tell me where exactly it's at? I'm getting frustrated :(

IIRC, the map is located somewhere in the Eastern Ruins (the area outside Lespas).
gyffes

Nonono, Nova, you're incorrect.
The map is recovered after defeating some brigands in the basement/catacombs of St. Vendar's.
April, this is a toughie: I've been through Lespas several times and STILL struggle (I'm struggling right now, actually, which is VERY embarrasing as I've posted clues/hints about this several times) trying to find the secret switch that reveals the room wherein is the Robber with the map.
It's in the area found by going straight from the entrance to the crypt (NOT to the left). The switch to open the area is in an alcove that faces down, like an upside-down U.
Get to it by going LEFT and BACK (towards the entrance). That is, you'll go UP and LEFT, if that makes any more sense.
It's a ***** to find but others have managed it.
Good luck.

Ah, yes, that one....it's been a while since I played in Lespas, but I DO remember the upside-down U (or rotated C) alcove!!! I just got my underground play areas mixed up :o

Hello,
This is my first time posting. I am playing Lespasian and have solved most of the quests. However, like many, I have come to a stopping place and haven't seen anything posted about it yet. I suspect it may be simple but I just seem to be missing it.
In the robber's hideout, I have come to where I think the zoo must be (I haven't seen it yet--just read about it) but there are two walls of force blocking my way. I can't figure out how to turn them off. I've tried looking for wall switches, etc. but am having no luck. I've already seen Ladvok and just need to finish this quest to get the thing from Ardune that I need. Thanks for any help in advance.

Does anyone know of any issues with system resets. I have tried numerous times to leave Lespa and every time it resets. I am running the game on a Palm Zire 71.
gyffes

Airdenne, you have two problems, actually.
1) Turning off force fields.
2) Ladvok. Frequently, when people find him first and then try to return to him, he's wandered off, never to be seen again. This makes it hard to finish the game. Have you a SAVE from pre-Ladvok on hand?
As for #1, remember that Pliny's map designs favor placing switches far from the item that gets affected. Look at your map: there is a place where you go down a loooong corridor that just stops. Odd, no? Mayhap you should go look around the end of that corridor a bit more?
AFTER reloading the pre-Ladvok savegame, of course...
DJ, what do you mean 'leave Lespas' ? Just teleport to somewhere else.

Dear Gyffes,
Thanks for the help. I did make it through the rest of the quests and finish the game. I had saved a Ladvok game right at the point of discovery but the Redshift gods must have been on my side because Ladvok was still there when I went back with the sword. Now onto......Legend? Revenge? Not sure yet.

Good to hear Ladvok was kind enough to wait around for you.
As for what comes next... welll.... Legend is, ideally, played BEFORE Lespas. Revenge is best when played in the 15-18 range, so you're probably too powerful for THAT.
What level IS your party? You could TRY Legend 2.. although it's best suited for level22+ (and that's a bit low, probably), you will level-up quickly in it.
Hmph. I'd hate to send you to REVENGE now, where it just wouldn' offer the enjoyable gameplay it might, otherwise.

Okay folks, sheesh I can't believe I have to do my first post over something like this. I know I will have head-knocking to do.
I've finished the Lespasian map but have the quest left about finding something to
"keep the Guard's knees from shaking". From reading all the posts in this thread I know I should be looking for mushrooms in a forest.
I can't find these mushrooms for the life of me. I've been systematically wandering all three forests. One step over-all the way across-ones step over-all the way across etc etc. I bet I walked over 'em time and time again.
Would someone please help me? At minimum please tell me which forest, but I'm so bored now so I just kinda' want to find 'em. The only maps left for me are Revenge and Legend2 so boy am I sick of wandering for 'shrooms and am anxious to start with Revenge.
Thanks!!!

I keep seeing references to an apple and the garden of eden. I am unable to find eaither. I have completed a number of quests, however this one seems to elude me. Any suggestions.
gyffes
06-19-2006, 09:47 AM
CJ, I'm sorry but I just cannot remember where those are found. For the record, it's the quest I've taken to ignoring when I run through Lespas unless I stumble 'pon the 'shrooms as I wander through.
DJ -- have you explored the area under the church?
Dj1096
06-19-2006, 11:59 AM
Yes. I've done the organ notes, found the Map & explored what I beleive is the whole thing. I've ran into the guard person twic, received my warning and that has been it so far. In addition I have made it to Lodvak (sp) but don't have the weapon to kill him. Any suggestions.
Finally, what does the pressure plate in the swamp do?
gyffes
06-28-2006, 11:01 AM
Joe -- I'm sorry I didn' see your question 'til now.
Did you explore Troondoor thoroughly? There's an old woman who tells you what you need to do to get the weapon to kill Ladvok. You'll have much tromping about to accomplish all she needs for this.

I must say, I was pretty leery, at first, at the thought of what might be exposed in such a guide, but I'm fairly impressed at both the completeness and the.. well.. vagueness.. of the help provided.
Bravo, Legends.

I am at a loss here. I am also having the problem where I get the wine ticket from the guy in the winery and then go give it to the mysterious woman in exchange for the wine. When I take it to the guard at the west gate he just continuously tells me that I have no business in the government quarters. I know there was someone else with this problem, but I didn't see a way to resolve it. Do I have a bug or am I missing something? PLEASE HELP!!! :)

I didn't have trouble with this the first few times through, then suddenly I did. It took me FOREVER to discover what I'd missed.
Vaguest possible hint: You've not yet knocked on every door in this town.
If, after further exploration, you're still stuck, PM me.

I'm stuck in Lespas
I've got ardunes map been to eden. shown the apple.
got the wine ticket a hundred times, offered it to get the wine.
but when I try to offer the wine, the guard repeats the same old thing, you not welcome here. I've searched this whole thread, everyone seems to have done what i've done, and got thru the gate, but not me.
also I noticed a bug, if you have either type of wine, and strength potions in the inventory, they all layerup as strength potions.
using xda orbit device.
gyffes
11-14-2007, 04:06 PM
a) not a bug so much as a reflection of how the author of the map tweaked the potion image to be 'wine';
b) the wine you find that you can carry with you and drink yourself is NOT the wine you need for the guard; you need to open doors until you find a place that'll swap yer ticket for wine; and
c) even with the wine, you'll need a little something else to get past the guard, something you may actually already have. Someone behind a DIFFERENT door in town gave you something that you, hopefully, still have on you.
If you would like more straightforward answer(s), please PM me.

ok, its obviously bugged. theres no way I fancy starting a complete new team. I read here that someone had same problem, was lucky to have a backup and managed to pass.

gyffes
11-14-2007, 04:37 PM
It's usually safe to assume that things you get that can't be sold have SOME purpose. I can think of only one, maybe two items which can't be sold and which ended up having no purpose but which stayed in-game due to programming error.
I'm afraid I can't help you, but it's not THAT far to replay the Map, is it?
gyffes
11-14-2007, 04:38 PM
Remember, don't have to restart a new TEAM, just remove the map, start Legacy again. Save. Exit. Replace the map. This 'resets' lespas.

doh. makes me wonder how many other items I left dumped around various addons on pressure pads and stuff <falls to floor> thanks.
rebdaniel
11-14-2007, 07:30 PM
In Legacy, where there is no weight penalty for carrying tons of stuff, I have one character, usually a back row mage, collect rocks. They appear at or near the end of the inventory, so they don't interfere with drinking potions or changing amulets. When I have to use rocks to open something with floor switches, I usually collect them afterward, if I can. That way I almost always have enough rocks so that I don't have to dump anything else on the switches. Whatever I can't sell, I keep till the very end of the map, so I can be completely sure it will serve no purpose. You can read through the legacy threads about lots of heartache people have brought upon themselves by dumping stuff they needed -- it is so EASY to avoid this problem, so you can focus on more productive legacy challenges.
gyffes
11-15-2007, 09:09 AM
I have the front-right character collect rocks.
The back mages usually have so many quiver and potions that drilling down to the rocks takes FOREVER.
The front left player usually collects the detritus: potions and bits of clothing I end up selling for spare change.
The front right player tends to have the least amount of extraneous gear and therefor is the PERFECT one to hold all the rocks.
Even accounting for places I drop and tend to leave them (Elvira, for example), I ALWAYS have about double what you need for even the V-of-fireball-traps-of-death portion of the Ice Empire outside Grendelmoor.
AND, if you MUST dump stuff, I always choose a single barrel -- the same barrel -- in a particular town. Usually, Decartes. But, as you noted, EVENTUALLY, they go away...
