and before you call me full of crap, listen up. I just recieved the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) and in the August issue they claim that the Xbox 360 will be backwards compatible with the top-selling Xbox 1 games (i.e. Halo, Halo 2) and its USB 2.0 connections will support many devices, including in PSP, nit sure if it will mean gameplay thru it or just music, but hopefully it will also support the Tapwave Zodiac 2 and other Palm OS devices.

You are full of...interesting ideas!

Seriously, as cool as that would be, who has ever heard of a console that connected with devices from a different brand? A PSP you say? That is extremely strange, and I am not sure I believe it myself. Maybe a PS3 and a PSP, but an Xbox 360? Well, since it does run Windows, I guess it is an inherent possibility, but I really dont see any Microsoft commercials saying, "And it even works with the PSP, the coolest of handheld game systems".

Cool only goes so far when the supporting games are blah for the most part and the device's multimedia features have been crippled. But anyways, I can't see the X360 supporting the PSP either, unless MS will allow users to copy video's or audio as you mentioned. But MS playing nicely with Sony doesn't sound right. Both manufactures are already full of shite when it comes to performance, so I wouldn't put it past MS to spread on the BS a bit thicker.

The backward compatibility thing is nothing new, but only supporting a few titles is pathetic at best. MS has yet to turn a profit on the Xbox, and now that it actually has potentional, MS is killing any chance of it actually succeeding.

Actually Backwards compatible is very smart. Remeber they boosted power significantly between 1 and the new 360, so they can easily afford to run an emulation of any component that isn't backwards compatible and still equal the old speed. They would do better to offer full emulation of the previous generation.

Well, the Revolution will be even more backwards compatable. Handles all Gamecube discs, and can download any game from a previous system.

They mention that in the August OXM as well, I'll try and scan the PSP part and post it here. Consider this a 1src semi-exclusive on the web thing.

I agree it's definately the right thing to do, but MS mentioned it will only work with specific XBox titles.

That is just the wrong way to do it. 100% savings on older stuff, carry all the new stuff to the new box. Halvsies were for elementary school.

I can understand a few old titles not working, but practically everything is a poor move on their part.
