Jurasic Park mega special effects block buster with computer generated creatures from a time and place we know little about, and later discover many mistakes in the interpretation of the creatures....

SPOILER ALERT:
My complaint with it was that the hopelessness was so constant. There was no build up of futility. There was never a chance that humans could win. It was just DIE! DIE! DIE! ...uh, what killed all the aliens?
It also showed only the ugly aspects of humanity. No good feelings at all. I need to go back and watch the original. I don't remember it being that way.
And what the hell was with the aliens burying their tripods before humans built their towns and cities over the top of them? Did they just want to make a grand entrance? I think the alien's time and energy would have been much better spent capturing cavemen than digging millions of holes in the ground.
I'm just glad I had free tickets.

I decided that unless Tom Cruise comes out with some hugley fascinating movie in the near future, I don't really care to see him act again.

<SPOILER ALERT>
He was overacting alot in the beginning, but I could tolerate him a little bit more towards the middle of the movie. I think Dakota Fanning was awful. She did nothing but scream and be a smart@ss. And the older brother? I thought it was sooooo stupid when he showed up at the end. He should have died! There is no possible way he could have lived through that! I liked the design of the tripods and the CG was good. (Although I could tell between thr CG van and the real thing.) The burying of the tripods was a little bit wierd. How far undeground were they buried, and with all these innovations like sonar and radar, people would have discovered them.

I wonder what his next movie is. I hope it's not what that requires him doing a bunch of publicity.
