I've been reading everyone's posts regarding battery life here. I'm amazed at some people saying they're getting over 5 hours of life between charges.
I did the draining thing and left it charging for 24 hours but I still get something like 5 hours and 10 mins.
Anything I'm missing?

5 hours is about right.
It all depends on the backlight setting and what apps you use, examples are using bluetooth, WiFi, or the camera, they need more juice!

On a fully charged battery I show 6 hours 47 minutes available. This is app. the same on both batteries I own. However, the battery I recently bought seems much better in high drain situations. I have to wonder if they had problems with the early production of these batteries and have since solved the problem, or I just got lucky with the second one. Either way this is a power hungry device, and it would be nice to see an extended battery become available for the unit. With minor modification it seems the battery compartment would have room for this.

Ok. So, it seems like my battery is good. I thought I've read some guys getting like 10 hours.

I get right around 7 hrs, 15 min. with backlight off. It varies also on how long it has sat in the cradle after it's "fully" charged...

Doesn't it turn off the charger once it's fully charged? Mine does.

Yes, but it seems to trickle charge it or something. My times vary proportionately to how long it's sat in the cradle.

so....the best way to deal with the battery is:
- drain yer battery as much as possible every time
- recharge it as long as possible (without interruption like take it away from charger or unplug the charger)
????
did it a couple of times and still it does go beyond the 6 hrs mark at all....
i'm really amazed how guys could get 10 hours....not to mention 14...
