I asked the IT dept at my job to install the software for my Clie on the desktop and they graciously did...unfortunately, the USB ports are disabled on the company computers (has something to do with Windows NT4) and they can't (or won't) give me USB capability.

Does anyone know of a product that will allow me to hot sync via the serial port? Or some kind of USB to Serial adapter-ma-jiggie?

Windows NT does not support usb. Can't you have them upgrade you to at least Windows 2000?

I haven't seen a serial cradle for the NZ90

One other possibility is if there is a wireless LAN.

It's true, NT does NOT support USB, Win 2k does.

Belkin may have a serial to USB converter that possibly may work, I know they have USB to serial, but not sure if they have the reverse. There is a Local Serial option in the HotSync Manager.

I have the Belkin Y-cable that has both serial & USB at work (also using WinNT4). With both connectors plugged in, I can sync with the serial & it trickle-charges though USB. The charging probably won't be significant to your NZ, but at least you can use the same cable once your work PC is upgraded. :)

Ah, very good solution! I had forgotten about the "Y" cable!

Thanks folks...that Belkin solution sounds just like what I need...the IT dept doesn't like to cusomize our computers for our "personal" needs so I am kind of stuck with the big brother NT4 for all raw deal.

But maybe this Belkin connector will solve the issue without me having to be too pesky. Thanks again! This forum is awesome!
