T5 Update 1.1 & Textplus

Just got my T5 updated yesterday and so for have no issue with my Texplus v5.6 Been using the T5 the whole day and yet to encounter any problem. Hope this help

It works as well as before, but if you have TextPlus Anywhere activated, it still craches on hotsync. Sigh...

The makers of TextPlus need to patch their code. Unfortunately, this is much harder when PalmOne isn't willing to tell developers why it breaks.

On June 7th, I emailed Smartcell, writing

It is well known amoung T5 users that TextPlus causes the T5 to crash while hotsyncing. Is there any plans to address the problems. I deeply miss not being able to use it.

Their response on the 22nd

PalmOne has released a OS upgrade for T5 that fixed this problem:

I hate it when I IT support are so verbose!!!

Yes, thanks. I was referring to the crashing of Hotsync with "TextPlus Anywhere" activated.

When I first raised this with SmartCell last year they stated that a) there was no problem and b) if there was, version 5.7 solved the it.

They then declined to answer any further e-mails from me pointing out that it didn't.

Now they claim that the T5 1.1 update solves the snag, when apparently it doesn't.

It seems that SmartCell are in competition with PalmOne to see who can have more contempt for their paying customers.

The T5 update definitely does NOT solve the problem. SmartCell folks not only don't answer support emails, they apparently are content to keep their heads in the sand.

Well they do need to patch their code, but I'm not convinced that it is related to PalmOne non-disclosure. Instant Text Mobile and WordComplete do not crash on hotsync, for example.

The problem is that the functionality of those two does not hold a candle to TextPlus in all the other areas.

Interestingly, since installing the update and re-installing TextPlus it has not crashed on me and that with "TextPlus Anywhere" activated. I have hotsynced some 5-6 time without difficulty.

Is it because I live a clean life and speak kindly to my T5?

Thanks for the heads-up, Easy. Reinstalling does seem to help!
