New Version of Info Select for Palm!

This expensive program has been updated to version 2 and now runs on OS5. If you use Info Select for Windows, this is a must to carry your data with you.

Info Select is a very stable PIM that has been around for years (late 80's/DOS!-Tornado Notes). I use it to store all the extraneous things that you want to keep track of, from small docs and numbers, to large files, emails, pics, etc. If a structured database is not to your liking, take a look at both products.

The best feature is the syncing capability between the two products. Info Select is my second brain; now I can carry a seamless subset of years of data in my palm!

I'd like to hear from others what you use to store all the stuff you create or want to save from the net, and how you then retrieve it.

The 32 KB note size is very welcome (was only 4 KB and therfore useless to me), but:
1. Is the search tool that much better? No doubt it does not approach the slick speed and efficiency of the desktop version, but how does it work?
2. And is it easier to manage which items are synchronized (because a user normally doesn't want everything in an IS desktop database to sync to the handheld)?

I use IS on my desktop to store random notes, but gave up on the earlier versions of Palm IS for those reasons.

The search tool on this version IS better; specifically, it now allows you to toggle the search filter as you do in the windows version. Unfortunately, the search results are still sequential, slowing the search usefulness.

Managing information and syncing, on the other hand, is very easy and powerful. Starting in IS for Windows, you designate topics which you want to sync (text only), and they are quickly synced and easily updated. The new version also syncs all your calendar and address book info, which the prior version did not.

Finally, to seach, I use Findhack, which works well with IS for Palm, to do my searches. Check out the new version.

A new version of FindHack, FindHack 4.0 is going to be released soon. This new version is a complete rewrite, compatible with Palm OS 5 and brings many new and exciting features.

I just released a public beta version of the product, which should be suitable for daily use until the final version is released in a few
weeks.

This release brings some major and much requested features:
- Palm OS 5 compatibility (Tungsten T, Sony NX, etc).
- Scrollable results list
- Go back to the last search results
- Boolean searches (Any Term / All Terms)
- Unlimited favorites
- Unlimited applications sets
- Indication of the number of matches per application

.. and more! Note that FindHack is now a full-blown application and does not require a hack management utility anymore. The minimum requirement for FindHack 4.0 is Palm OS 3.3.

Jim, Will there be support for Hi Res? InfoSelect 2 crashes my Clie 665 and when I turn HiRes off, the fonts are almost unreadable.
This happens to be one of my favorite apps and I have already bought a copy. Please let me know what the plan is.
