I'm having trouble with my T5 after installing the update. I see the problem in my hotsync log, but I'm reluctant to try & fix this on my own. I'm hoping one of you power users can help me out. I think the update "took" because the rom date has changed. But, when I complete the last step of copying my backup Internal folder contents into the file transfer utility and then hotsync - I get into a Fatal Reset loop.
Here's an excerpt of my hotsync log which shows the error:
blah, blah, blah...
- Installed file: C:\Program Files\palmOne\GaileyA\backup\CalendarLocationsDB-PDat.PDB
- Already exists: C:\Program Files\palmOne\GaileyA\backup\ConnectionMgr50DB.PDB
- Installed file: C:\Program Files\palmOne\GaileyA\backup\C_02.PDB
blah, blah, blah...
Restore synchronization failed
Items shown in red here, are actually red in my log as well.
Thank you very much, in advance
Al

I had the exact same problem. I spent most of the night trying to get around it but no go. I had to hard reset my T5, rename my backup folder, toss everything else in my palmone folder and start from scratch. Not much of a solution but I was finally able to get the update 1.1 in without crashes and fatal reset loops. I'm in the process of slowly getting everything back in...ugh

Hey, I don't mean to be annoying but this is one of those examples of where the t5 isn't as reliable as the e2. As i stated in a post elsewhere "the t5 isn't as reliable as the e2" I got alot of complaints on that posts saying that wasn't true. I know this sounds annoying but....it's human nature.:p ....just one of those reasons.....

I think the only hurdle is getting the update on the T|T5 and all your stuff back in (for some of us) Once that tedious process is complete, it's a whole new animal. All my data/apps are back in now and the old glitches are gone. Also, the responsiveness is finally up to par.
I'd say the T5 is now as reliable as an e2.....only...well, better

I had the same problem (fatal error after the restore hotsync). I solved it with a warm reset and then restored from my backup on the SD card done with BackupBuddyVFS Pro 3.07. This fixed it. I suspect there was something wrong with LauncherX I'm using. Perhaps a configuration file was missing? Anway, after the restore from the backup on the SD card everything was fine. http://www.1src.com/forums/images/smilie/images/smilies/smile.gif
Cheers.

Coaster - your reply was annoying. I'm looking for help with the update program on my T5.
If you want to begin a discussion of the pros & cons of T2s/T5s that's cool. But, out of respect to this particular thread - do it elsewhere. I'm not even discounting your comments. They may be valid indeed. Perhaps I even made a bad purchase.
The fact remains - all you're accomplishing here (IMO) is introducing thread creep & derailing my efforts.

Algae, do a hard reset and sync to a temporary user name. Install the ROM update with that user name but no additional software. Do another hard reset, that will not take away the ROM update, and sync to your old user name. I recommend the one app at a time install after you get the calendar and other PIM info. That should help clear things up for you.
